Trouble w/sign-up

I signed up, but it's saying that it's invalid and I'm not sure what I did wrong. My username is salazarastark. What's the problem?

Hi,

Looks like what happened is the Archive glitched when you submitted your sign-up, and it submitted two of them. That prevents you from editing after. I've deleted one, so you should be able to edit your remaining one again!

If you have a further problem, please let us know at one of the admin journals (yuletide-admin.dreamwidth or yuletide-admin.livejournal) or by email - we may not pick up queries at this journal as quickly.

Is there a Discord server or equivalent chat room for writers, hippos, betas, etc.? I think I remember there used to be an IRC chat but I'm not sure whether that's still around.

Hi --

It looks like nominations can start this Monday. Is there going to be a Promo Post where we can flesh out characters or see if someone else is already nominating something so that we can go with another 3 nominations?

In the past, I've found those posts very helpful, and they're usually up before the nominations start.

Yes, there will be a beta post soon. :) Last year's volunteer handed it on to a new volunteer and I've been in touch with them recently.

Regarding Discord, I understand your concerns - I have a similar issue with the spreadsheet, actually, since most of the google suite is blocked at my work. However, the discord Hippo system allows someone to log in at a time of their choosing, leave their details with an intermediary, and log off again, so I hope it's workable as a back-up option.

Separately, it looks like you're past the point where it would be most helpful, but if lack of details from your recipient is a problem in future, you are welcome to email yuletideadmin@gmail.com to ask your recipient for some likes. You can also look up the person's name on karanguni's request-scraping app here: https://autoao3app.fandom.tools/#/everything to see if your recipient has signed up to previous exchanges and posted details that may give you an idea.

I appreciate you avoiding specific identifying details but since you mention the number of requests your recipient made, their lack of letter, and the approximate length of your work, I will screen your comment. Yes, thanks - if no one is able to put up a post, we can, but we don't currently have the capacity to update the spreadsheet. Happily, someone in Discord just now was talking about putting one up, so watch this space.
