I had a lot of fun writing this year. I did write three fics - I wish I had the time for more as treats - but that might be a goal for next year. Here's what I wrote:

Summary: Three scenes, three months, and just two sport anchors thinking that they might be more than just friends through their feelings.
Notes: This is post series and I had a lot of fun pulling in real life sport events from 2000. I did not pull in the Olympics; I used Tiger Woods winning the US Open, the Tour de France (I kinda want to do a future Sports Night of them reacting to Lance Armstrong being stripped of the win), and the World Series. The reason that I did not pull in the Olympics is I felt that an episode covered that and I thought it would be more fun to use different big sport events.

Notes: This is post movie and I've written a lot of post movie or AU fics for this fandom. It's one of my favorites and I do love seeing it pop up in Yuletide. However, there was no Baltazar and I loved that challenge as most of mine include him in some way. So I focused on using a bit of everyone but Constantine being the main focus. Also... I've kind of wondered what or where Gabriel would go after the movie, now depowered, and maybe, if we ever get a sequel, that might be explored.

Summary: Having found Molloy, Lestat makes an interesting choice and drags Armand into the chaos.
Notes: Again, another fandom that I love to write and play in. Now, this had an added challenge as it was just to use the movie. That elevated this into hard mode because I love the movie but I also have the book knowledge. The book knowledge, when you go back and re-read, adds a lot of depth to, not only Lestat, but Louis as Lestat's creation. Also Armand and the theater troupe. So I kept on writing and then going "oh, wait, that's book knowledge" to go back and rewrite things. There's something in there that could have been smoothed out - it's a line about a fortune teller that felt off - but I also couldn't figure out a way to omit or morph it into pulling in a thread of why the three should be together. But! This was a fantastic fic to write and I regret nothing. :)

I wrote a little addition to the Iliad, The Trojan Women, the Odyssey and a bit of the Aenead called The Hekubiad. It was interesting to write; I did a lot more unexpected research than usual, into the shape and decoration on Trojan women's spindles, the names of locations 3000 years ago, how differently Spartan women were treated than other women in other Greek citystates, and it was all interesting.
