Might be jumping the gun a bit, but here's a post on which to organize meetups!

Comment here with your location and whether you want to organize or just attend a writing meetup.

I'm in the Boston area, and would like to organize a ~bi-weekly writing-and-coffee/tea meet-up. Likely in Cambridge, flexible to Somerville/Watertown/Boston proper/etc, depending on what people want.

I'm in central Manchester, and don't mind coming out of my city shell a bit ;) provided it's to somewhere wheelchair-friendly. (I can also arrange places within the city to meet, as my local libraries love this sort of meet-up, & so does a particular café I can think of.)

There are some good coffee shops around town and the tourist season is ending, so should be nice for potential bi-weekly meetups. Nothing too serious, just communal creating!

I'm also in Boston, (really Cambridge/anywhere you can get to on the red line). Bourbon Coffee works for me. Weekends are better for me (both Saturdays and Sundays), but if weekdays are a thing, later is better (I usually work until ~7:30 to 8pm).

There are so many cafes, hot chocolate, ice cream, etc places in this city I'd love to explore one or two with some other Yuletide-rs if there are any.

SE WI here - would be willing to go north to Milwaukee/surrounding areas, or south as far as Lincolnshire (possibly other 'burbs - I would just rather not drive into Chicago proper).

I also work in a building (in Kenosha) with a lunchroom guaranteed to be empty on the weekend if anyone would be up for a pizza + writing gathering!

Boston planning thread

I figured centralizing this made more sense than copypasting the same thing to multiple threads.

So, sounds like there's a bit of a spread on what people would like, but it sounds like weekday evenings (Thursdays for several people; MW for others) or weekends are preferred.

What do people think of some kind of rotation-ish thing? I know some people also expressed interest in varying the locations, which is completely reasonable, and there's definitely a spread of day/time availabilities.

So, re: locations: please comment below with other suggestions of places you'd like to write that have ample seating (and ideally are close to public transit and are in wheelchair-accessible buildings).

Re: schedule: tell me if this looks reasonable, or if this is too many/too few/too close together/the wrong times of day/the wrong days of the week. Also, I'm less likely to be able to do the weekdays, so if someone else wants to spearhead those please let me know!

I'm unfortunately away working in NH the first weekend of Yuletide (Oct 14/15), so if someone else wants to spearhead a kick-off write-in on the 15th, please feel free to use this thread to do so! I'll just miss it, which is okay. :)
