Season's Treatings mini-challenge

Do you love receiving or writing end of year holiday stories? Are you prompting a snowed in Hanukkah celebration or an Australian New Year's beach party? Season's Treatings may be for you!

This mini-challenge is all about November, December and January holidays, traditions, and cultural celebrations big and small and all over the globe--and perhaps some fantasy worlds, who knows. If you want to prompt it, someone may want to write it.

AO3 Name: starcunning
Letter Link (if applicable): Dear Yuletide Writer
Holiday(s) Requested: By fandom, see below; New Year's Eve; New Year's Day
Fandom and character(s): Tsukihime (Arcueid, Hisui, Arihiko, Kohaku, Akiha, Shiki, Satsuki); Eisenhorn series (Gideon Ravenor, Patience Kys, Wystan Frauka, Eleena Koi)
Prompts:
Tsukihime
  • Christmas in Japan is a couple's holiday primarily, celebrated mostly on Christmas Eve. I'd love to see a dinner date or romantic walk to see the lights and decoration displays, or a trip to a theme park.
  • Arcueid Brunestud has decided her birthday is December 25th! It's probably the first and only time she's celebrated it, or even been awake to do so.
  • New Year's Day is important to families and spiritually. I wouldn't mind a shippy take or characters going as friends, though. They can wear traditional dress and make wishes for themselves and one another's success in the year to come, or watch the first sunrise of the year together.
  • For a more general wintery vibe (snowball fights, ice skating, etc), Shiki and Akiha, along with the twins, planned a winter vacation trip. Nagano, their destination, would have hosted the winter Olympics the year before, so there's lots of winter weather, snowy sports, and opportunities for cozy chalet vibes.

Eisenhorn Series
  • The midwinter holiday in 40k is Sanguinalia, according to one of the RPG sourcebooks. Abnett himself makes a reference to Candlemas being around the same time, but details on either are thin on the ground. I wrote up a bit of fanon long ago to marry the two together, leaning on Saturnalia traditions and Roman Catholic ones, which maybe you'll find helpful. Or maybe you won't, in which case, feel free to disregard it! We know very little about the observation of these holidays, and local customs will always differ.
  • Patience in particular is a glamourous woman I would love to see at a fancy New Year's Eve party--ideally with Gideon. We never get to see them happy and relaxed. Then again, maybe they are working ...
  • Wystan and Eleena are, by their nature, outsiders--they're called Pariahs for a reason. It would be sweet to see the rest of the team including them in festivities, or, contrarily, them making their own traditions.
