Incest Mini-Challenge: A Family Affair 2024
Some people say the best part of waking up is Folgers in your cup… but personally, even though I'm a coffee lover, waking up to new fanworks for one of my beloved incest ships is even better! Do you feel the same way? Do you have incest ships or themes in mind for at least one of your Yuletide requests this year? Then A Family Affair, the Yuletide mini-challenge for works featuring incest, is for you!
Selfcest, clonecest, adopted/stepfamily incest, one-sided attraction, "AU where they're related", cousin incest in historical canons where it's not a taboo, and so on are on-topic for this challenge if you feel like they are. We're not going to police what counts as "incest-y enough".
How do I participate?
Leave a comment on this post linking to your Yuletide letter (if applicable) and letting people know what fandoms and characters you're requesting and what kinds of incest you're interested in receiving gift works about. At a minimum, you should include:

Do you want to receive works where the characters are underage?: I would prefer not to get Mature and Explicit rated sexual content (third base and further) that involves a character that’s underage, but everything else is fair game (and there is a lot of game 😏).
What kind of relationship dynamics are you interested in (romantic fluff, consensual-but-angsty, dubcon, grooming, noncon, etc.)?: Most of these ships are rarepairs so I'd be happy to receive almost anything. My only 'no' would be that I'm not interested in grooming and general manipulation to cause the ships, violent noncon, etc. But even still, an exception can be made for dubcon in situations of intoxicated/impaired consent such as Sex Pollen, Fuck or Die, Closed Rooms, etc; and an exception can also be made for all of the 'noes' I just said in this paragraph if the fic involves Stribog!Fractured!Julius (Xillia players will understand this one).
I don't have promo posts, I made one for Rays but it wasn't focused in a cast that has any shipcest potential. I do have a ship manifesto for the Berseria ship, though... Does that count? ijustthinkthey'reneat.gif

Do you want to receive works where the characters are underage?: This would only be in an AU - as they don’t meet until they’re adults - but if you’re going AU I’m fine with them as teens, although not any younger, thanks. Canonically, of course, ‘bad things happen’ to them as youngsters outside of incest, and am happy for you to keep that in.
What kind of relationship dynamics are you interested in (romantic fluff, consensual-but-angsty, dubcon, grooming, noncon, etc.)?: It’s all good! I like a happy ending, but anything that happens along the way is fine. I like them in character, so it’s a bit difficult to avoid the angst-trap that is Felix Harrowgate if you’re not going AU, but if you can manage it, I applaud you!
Additional info: Incestuous desire is canon! \o/ It’s unrequited in the books, and I’m happy for it to stay that way, or to involve non or dub con, or to evolve into a truly incestuous relationship. Grateful for anything you choose!

What kind of relationship dynamics are you interested in (romantic fluff, consensual-but-angsty, dubcon, grooming, noncon, etc.)?: No outright predation or non-con; I prefer more self-hating repression until it can no longer be held back, loving too hard such that it 'crosses boundaries', secretly wanting it but not being able to admit it, etc. If dub-con, I prefer mutual questionable consent, i.e. both being drunk or similar. I also love when one party feels really ashamed of themselves, but the other (typically the younger/more innocent one) just really really loves their sibling and is waiting for them to come around <3 I love incest as a screwed-up response to trauma, and accidental incest (leading to intense shame or trauma later), but also incest that is genuinely romantic and loving, even if the world is against them.
In regards to canon: Genealogy of the Holy War does have canon incest - and Julia/Seliph is (in some formats) one of them!! :D The two are half-siblings (and Julia herself is the product of a half-sibling marriage) A full write-up of the incest in this and a couple other Fire Emblem canons is here, and if you want a (very long!) overview of Genealogy of the Holy War in general, that's over here! Unfortunately, this isn't the sort of fandom that's easy to pick up in time for Yuletide... What kinds of familial relationships are you interested in: Canonically adopted brothers, but I'm always up for incest AUs with biological brothers or father/son, as long as Dick stays 6-15 years older than Jason.
Do you want to receive works with explicit sexual content?: Would love that! I'd also love a non-explicit D/s dynamic (dom!Dick) for this canon.
Do you want to receive works where the characters are underage?: Canonically, at this point in time, they are not underage, but I'm up for it if it fits the story/timeline! (It's one of my bigger likes!)

Relevant Fandoms: Bucchigiri?! (anime), Gokurakugai (manga)
First fandom: Bucchigiri?!
For this fandom, the incest stuff is nearly as canonical as it gets. The show could basically be described as "Intricate Rituals: the anime" — it's one of those shonen punch-em-up things that's unapologetically homoerotic about it (it's by the same director as Sk8 the Infinity, if that gives you an idea of the vibes; think Sk8 but juvenile delinquents instead of skateboarding, and also there's genies for some reason). The protagonist, Arajin, has a very loud and emphatic (perhaps too emphatic, ifyouknowwhatimean) crush on the only female character in the whole show besides his mom: his beloved Mahoro-chan. Unfortunately for Arajin, Mahoro has eyes for only one man: her big brother Marito.
Canonical bro-con crimes Mahoro has committed towards big bro Marito include: an ungodly amount of thirst; tricking anyone who has a crush on her into fighting him so she can thirst over him even harder; taking and subsequently ogling pics of him shirtless and/or sleeping; and hiding under his bed to listen in on him and his
boyfriendjuvenile delinquent gang lieutenant's conversation. (Marito, by contrast, seems to like Mahoro an entirely normal amount. It is arguably the most normal thing about him.)There have been some great fics so far leaning into Mahoro's one-sided obsession, but the world could always use more. I also haven't seen much in the way of reciprocation; while the obsession is decidedly one-sided, I'd be interested to see something where Marito is also interested in Mahoro, whether that be because he's attracted to her, he just likes the attention, or whatever else you can think up. (That has the potential to get very dark; I wouldn't mind.)
There's also room for a potentially incestuous reading of the relationship between secondary protagonist Matakara and his beloved onii-chan, if you'd rather explore that; Mitsukuni wasn't nominated for the tagset, but I'm open to receiving fics with him in them, as long as Matakara's there too. As far as I can remember, Mitsukuni never actually shows up in the show outside of brief flashbacks, but his absence looms over Matakara throughout, and Matakara's got a whole thing going on re: relating to Mahoro, so there's lots of space to play. (Based on what happens in the show, this also has the potential to get very dark; and again, I wouldn't mind.)
Explicit and underage are an enthusiastic yes from me, but I would prefer for sexual content to stay above the puberty threshold. My most significant DNWs are AUs, Major Character Death, breeding kink, and so-called 'issuefic', i.e. anything that focuses or dwells on political or philosophical subjects.
Second fandom: Gokurakugai
Gokurakugai itself doesn't have much in the way of incesty vibes, but one of my requests is for a fic exploring the relationship dynamic between the teenaged protagonist, Alma, and his handler, Tao, in whatever way the writer wishes. In canon, it's mentioned or at least implied that Alma reminds Tao of her long-lost little brother; if someone wanted to take that implication and run with it in a surrogate-sibling-incest-y direction, I would eat that up. If someone wanted to read their dynamic as more parental and make it incest in that direction, I'd eat that up too.
Again, I'm very on board with explicit and underage content. For this request, I have no DNWs whatsoever.

The latter is a relationship in canon where one person swears to obey the other in all things, introduced as a story in which one character requires another to fuck her despite his not being interested in women. This is extra fun because Mildmay is not interested in men, while Felix is canonically interested in Mildmay, and can protect him. They've both already undergone more than their share of grooming. Noncon and romantic fluff are both in my "no thank you, not for these two" column.

Explicit sexual content: All ratings are welcome, but yes, I'm happy to receive explicit works!
Underage characters: No. Flashbacks are fine, but please no sexual content from when Dutch was a child.
Relationship dynamics: Anything goes, really. Dutch's relationship with Khlyen is complicated, to say the least, and I imagine there's a lot of room for hurt/comfort, dubcon, grooming, consensual-and-confusing, dark, surprisingly sweet, protective, etc. John and Dutch are bonded through their sibling-esque relationship, which could lead to a sweet development of romantic feelings, complicated FWB or friends-who-don't-admit-they're-lovers, protective instincts, comfort, etc. Throw all three characters together, and who knows where it will go?
