Yuletide Nomination Coordination Station 2023

WARNING: Do NOT submit nominations here. Post for coordination ONLY.

This post is where people declare what they have nominated, or ask other people to nominate for them. So if you do comment and/or add your nominations to the spreadsheet, that's great, because it helps other people decide what to nominate, but it WILL NOT result in your fandoms or characters being in the tagset. The only place to nominate is the Yuletide tagset. Use the comments on this post and the coordination Google spreadsheet to coordinate nominations with others.

• For information about nominating fandoms and characters, what is eligible for nomination, and other important links and announcements, refer to yuletide_admin.
• Nominations run Sunday September 17th to Thursday September 28th. Nominations will be approved after that time.
• Before tags are approved (after September 28th), you can only see your own nominations.
• You can nominate up to 4 fandoms and up to 4 characters in each fandom.

Please copy and paste the following information to comment on this post. Every item is optional except fandom.

• A nomination is something you plan to nominate. A request is something you're hoping someone else will nominate for you, because you ran out of slots.
• View and edit the google sheet here: Yuletide 2023 Nomination Coordination Station.
• If you can add your information to the spreadsheet yourself, please do! That would really help. PLEASE DO NOT SORT THE SHEET. If you want to view the list by nominated fandoms, use the autogenerated "sort by fandom" tabs.
• During the nomination period, the spreadsheet will get re-sorted by username daily at 8PM EST (find your local time), to keep the data tidier.

If you have a few minutes and enjoy a bit of data entry, please volunteer to update the spreadsheet with information the comments in this post! Probably using dark mode on the spreadsheet or device - it looks that way on my phone, which is set to dark mode. You may have to hardcode it to be black instead of default colors (which I think is a dynamic thing that adjusts for light/dark mode). If that doesn't work, try a very dark blue, brown, or purple

That's it - I always use dark mode as light mode tends to give me a headache. It hadn't occurred to me that the issue might simply be that the colour wasn't hardcoded - thanks! In which case, defining and freezing the field as black on yellow might work. If it's dark vs light that's the issue, I won't be the only one seeing it as white on yellow.

I changed the font color to black instead of the default so let me know if that helps! I tried very hard to find a way to make my browser version dark mode because I would LOVE THAT but apparently it's impossible without Chrome.

It doesn't seem to have worked for me, but it occurred to me that I could pop my sunglasses on and switch to light mode for long enough to read it, then swap back and take them off - but having said that, where the text against yellow-background boxes has been set to red rather than black or white, on other sheets, that does work. Is that okay? I'd imagine that for anybody who happens to be red-green colourblind, the red there would still have sufficient contrast to be readable, so it may be a solution. I'm really sorry to be so awkward!

No worries! I changed it to a very dark red that still looks black on my screen.

For some reason it still doesn't go through, but I very much appreciate all your attempts to fix it, and I am so sorry it's proved such a hassle. I didn't expect it to be, or I would never have asked!
