Celebrate Trans Characters: Transtide 2022
What is TransTide?
Since trans headcanons and the portrayal of trans characters can be personal for many people, writers might be nervous to write trans headcanons without invitation. This mini challenge is for people to signal that they would love to receive trans headcanons, as well as to showcase their requested fandoms with canon trans characters.
Note that this exchange is open to nonbinary characters as well.
How do I participate?

- Leave a comment on this post linking your letter and/or listing your requested fandoms and characters if you 1) requested canonical trans characters, 2) are happy to receive a gift where your writer headcanons one or several of the characters as trans.
- Feel free to add any likes and DNWs.
- Make sure to include your ao3 name!
- If you post a fic for Yuletide with one or more trans characters, tag it with TransTide so people can find it easily.

Likes: humour around gender, gender euphoria, cis and trans characters having moments of gendered solidarity with each other (e.g. cis and trans women having a girls' night), sex that is a bit off the beaten path for the cisgender norm (e.g. muffing, non-genital focused sex, etc.), historical fic where the trans characters carve out a niche for themselves to be happy
DNWs: trans characters being transphobic to other members of the community (either to a specific person or e.g. being dismissive of non-binary people or non-dysphoric trans people to validate their own experience of transness), unhappy endings specifically related to the character being trans (e.g. being disowned)
Fandom specific details: I am open to trans headcanons in any of my requested fandoms, which are as follows:
Singin' in the Rain (1952)
Cosmo Brown, Don Lockwood, Kathy Selden
Some Like It Hot (1959)
Daphne, Joe, Osgood Fielding III, Sugar Kane Kowalczyk
Gattaca (1997)
Irene Cassini, Jerome Eugene Morrow, Vincent Freeman
Galaxy Quest (1999)
Alexander Dane, Gwen DeMarco, Jason Nesmith
Father of the Bride (Movies)
Annie Banks-MacKenzie, Franck Eggelhoffer, George Banks (Father of the Bride), Matty Banks
A League of Their Own (TV 2022)
Esti González, Jess McCready, Lupe García
I have also specifically requested trans!Daphne (trans woman for preference, but I have read some wonderful gender fluid and non-binary Daphnes over the years too) and trans!Jess (based on Jess' actor Kelly McCormack using both she/her and they/them pronouns for Jess in interviews).
