...and a Partridge in a Pear Tree

There are 3623 fandoms nominated in this year's tagset, with 14007 amazing characters. Given that this is a multi-fandom exchange, it doesn't matter if you requested the minimum (3 fandoms) or the maximum (6 fandoms) in your sign-up, there is a high possibility that even 50 slots wouldn't be enough for all the fandoms you know, love, and would enjoy to read fic for. That's where ...and a Partridge in a Pear Tree 🕊 🍐 🌲 comes in!

How does it work?
  • Go through the tag set.
    • It's your decision if you include only the fandoms that were narrowly cut from your requests this year or if you list anything and everything you slightly recognize from osmosis.
    • The Taglist Filter makes this easy!
  • Comment to this post with the list of fandoms you would enjoy receiving a treat * for so that authors who really were hoping to write for that fandom this year can know someone out there would like to receive it!
    • Only providing fandom names will be considered an "Any" request for whatever characters are nominated in that fandom.
    • If you want to provide an author with generic likes guidance and/or DNWs that you wish to see honored, include a link to your letter/sign-up.
    • If you have specific characters you would like to read about in any given fandom and/or have prompts suggestions, you are encouraged to share that information.
    • If you're listing a fandom you previously requested, you are welcome to link to the letter you requested it in but only if it is for characters nominated in this year's tagset.
  • Add participation to the app so that anyone browsing will know that you're signed up for this challenge!
  • * Note: Since none of these are official requests and thus cannot be someone's main gift, anything made for this challenge must be posted into the 2021 Madness Collection. If you post it in the main collection there is a strong chance the mods will contact you and/or kick it out!
That's it. Have fun! Hopefully this challenge will result in fics that otherwise couldn't or wouldn't have been written and will see the Madness collection get some extra love this year! :)

Fandom(s) I Know:

Note: I'm happy to read about any of the nominated characters in all of these fandoms. I've listed all of nominated characters below for convenience, but you definitely only need to include the one(s) you're interested in.

Aurora Teagarden Mysteries (Movies)
Nominated characters: Arthur Smith, Davis Mettle, Phillip Pifer, Sally Allison

I've never requested this fandom, but I enjoy the movies. Case!fic is great of course, with or without Aurora herself. (Would anyone other than Arthur even try to solve a case withour Aurora there to push them?) Or a moment from case!fic, waiting for rescue or a conversation on a stakeout. Or fill in some small bit of their personal lives that we don't see in the movies, since they're mostly focused on Aurora: What drew them to the club? What's their favourite true crime? What do they do when they're not studying/solving crimes?

Intelligence (US TV 2014)
Nominated characters: Riley Neal, Lillian Strand, Gabriel Vaughn

I've requested this fandom before, so you can check out my letter for ideas, but I'll expand a bit here for Riley and Lillian. What's it like for Riley to work with Gabriel? How did Riley's (partial?) reconciliation with her mother come about? What's her relationship like with her family in general? How did Lillian decide to follow in her father's footsteps? How did she feel about Clockwork's early failures? What do any of them do on their day off?

The Tea Master and the Detective - Aliette de Bodard
Nominated characters: Long Chau, The Shadow's Child

All I want here is more: The next case. The friendship or the more-than-friendship. The Shadow's Child's mini book club with Bao. How Mind families work. How she chose this line of work. Long Chau's daily life. Her contact with her former student. Life in a constant drugged state. Or just more about the world they live in--any of a hundred tiny details explained and explored.

Spy Game (2001)
Nominated characters: Nathan Muir, Tom Bishop

I don't really have any specific ideas here; I just love the movie. Poor, suffering, cocky, talented Tom, and Nathan saving the day without ever leaving the building. Ship, gen, mission!fic, a little more twisted manipulation, Nathan playing CIA politics, Tom tracking down Nathan's birthday, a post-movie meeting, finding out what happens either one of them afterwards...whatever appeals to you.

Additional Details:

My general likes and dislikes are all in my Yuletide letter, but generally, I like canon divergence stories but not complete AUs, I'm fine with all canon pairings, and I don't mind character death but don't particularly like character mutilation.

Two for One: I love crossovers, if those are your thing. My Crossworks letter is probably the best place to start for both prompts and other fandoms I'm interested in, but you can also look at other fandoms I've written.

Feel free to drop a comment on my letter if you have any questions.
