...and a Partridge in a Pear Tree

There are 3623 fandoms nominated in this year's tagset, with 14007 amazing characters. Given that this is a multi-fandom exchange, it doesn't matter if you requested the minimum (3 fandoms) or the maximum (6 fandoms) in your sign-up, there is a high possibility that even 50 slots wouldn't be enough for all the fandoms you know, love, and would enjoy to read fic for. That's where ...and a Partridge in a Pear Tree ๐Ÿ•Š ๐Ÿ ๐ŸŒฒ comes in!

How does it work?
  • Go through the tag set.
    • It's your decision if you include only the fandoms that were narrowly cut from your requests this year or if you list anything and everything you slightly recognize from osmosis.
    • The Taglist Filter makes this easy!
  • Comment to this post with the list of fandoms you would enjoy receiving a treat * for so that authors who really were hoping to write for that fandom this year can know someone out there would like to receive it!
    • Only providing fandom names will be considered an "Any" request for whatever characters are nominated in that fandom.
    • If you want to provide an author with generic likes guidance and/or DNWs that you wish to see honored, include a link to your letter/sign-up.
    • If you have specific characters you would like to read about in any given fandom and/or have prompts suggestions, you are encouraged to share that information.
    • If you're listing a fandom you previously requested, you are welcome to link to the letter you requested it in but only if it is for characters nominated in this year's tagset.
  • Add participation to the app so that anyone browsing will know that you're signed up for this challenge!
  • * Note: Since none of these are official requests and thus cannot be someone's main gift, anything made for this challenge must be posted into the 2021 Madness Collection. If you post it in the main collection there is a strong chance the mods will contact you and/or kick it out!
That's it. Have fun! Hopefully this challenge will result in fics that otherwise couldn't or wouldn't have been written and will see the Madness collection get some extra love this year! :)

Fandom(s) I Know:

Please check out my general likes and DNW's in my letter. All characters listed should be see as OR, not AND - please don't feel like you have to include all of them in a given fic unless you want to!

*Chalice - Robin McKinley - Worldbuilding
*ใฏใŸใ‚‰ใ็ดฐ่ƒž | Hataraku Saibou | Cells at Work! (Anime)
*Mushi-shi - Ginko, Adashino
*Dinotopia - James Gurney
*Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - Douglas Adams
*American Girls: Samantha - Various Authors - Samantha Parkington
*Earthsea - Ursula K. Le Guin - Ged
*Sunshine - Robin McKinley- Worldbuilding, Rae "Sunshine" Seddon Rae
*11Foot8 Bridge (Anthropomorphic)

*Dune Series - Frank Herbert - Alia Atreides, Chani Kynes, Irulan Corrino, Jessica

Desert landscapes, ecology, history and stories, scheming and power struggles, Bene Gesserit training, women being awesome

*Kushiel's Legacy - Jacqueline Carey - Worldbuilding, Alcuin nรณ Delaunay

I'm always here for "Alcuin Lives!" AUs, though his relationship with Delaunay squicks me out and while it's fine to mention it in passing, I'd prefer it not to be the main focus of the fic. I'm also down for more stories of the adepts of the Night Court, particularly the houses we don't get to see in the books.

*A Conspiracy of Truths Series - Alexandra Rowland - Chant, Ylfing

Chant getting into trouble and getting away with it. Yfling being morose and maybe even getting to be happy for a while? Stories within stories, unreliable narrators, marginalia.

*Flatland - Edwin A. Abbott

Euclid jokes. Maybe references to other classical geometrical works, such as Apollonius's Conics? Riemannian space or Lobachevskian geometry?

Other Notes: No need to contact me as long as you steer clear of my general DNWs, but you are welcome to leave a comment (anonymous or not) on my letter if you have questions.
