YuleTunes! (music challenge)
Hail and well met! Are you the sort of Yuletide-r that enjoys ballads, songs, ditties, tunes, and/or filks of any type? Hopefully there’s a few of you, because this is the first time this challenge has gone up.
It’s YuleTunes, folks! (i posted it as YuleFilk last night but this seems better.) This is a Yuletide minichallenge for people who want to write and receive music-y related
This could be filk, pastiches of already-existing songs, lyrics set to instrumental tunes from the source canon (or otherwise), a score or visual representation of a composition, completely original songs (whether that ends up being just lyrics written on their own, or an audio recording of an original song), or any sort of original composition. The sky’s the limit, just as long as it’s music-related.

Suggestions welcome." if I may suggest, to avoid tagging confusion, something that doesn't have the specific word 'filk' in it? (Off the top of my head, YuleTunes, Yulesic, YuleSongs, YuleJam/Yulejamming) I have all the respect for filk and those who create it, but would probably be requesting and creating other types of music-related content for this, and so feel like it could be mildly weird or confusing to tag it YuleFilk.

Fandoms: High Noon Over Camelot, Transistor
Prompts: HNOC is an album of filk already - if you want to write more songs in the same setting (a la Pellinore and the Beast from Tales To Be Told), I would love that!
For Transistor, more songs from the perspective of Red would be fascinating. She has such a weird, complicated relationship with her city and its people, and any further exploration of that would be very cool.

I don't really have any specific prompts for this. (Just two thoughts: Is there any way that Eileen's bridging of two eras might be reflected in music pertaining to her and/or would affect her musical taste? What sort of music do robots create, and is it affected by the Three Laws [e.g. would a Nestor with its softened First Law create something different]?) I just want to throw my hat into the ring that I would love to receive any sort of music for any of these fandoms! I'm particularly fond of pastiches. I can read music if you'd prefer to create a score over (or in addition to) audio for some reason.

If it's relevant, I can read music, I sing (soprano) but don't currently play an instrument, though I have access to a piano and can pick out notes on it, and I have free MuseScore composition software which can read and play back music from a sound file or a PDF.

This is a short music video (link in my letter). It's a re-envisioning of the Orpheus and Eurydice myth in a fantasy/Renaissance-ish context. This Orpheus plays the violin to help him reach Eurydice after she dies and to find her again. What kind of music is he playing?
Wind Will Rove - Sarah Pinsker (no characters)
This is a sci-fi short story (link in my letter). A lot of it is about the transmission of folk music, and changes in lyrics and melody and how one song evolves into a different thing. Something music-related for this fandom would be amazing. Possible ideas:
-a vocal or instrumental recording or sheet music of any version of "Wind Will Rove" mentioned in the story (or a new version not mentioned)
-the version that Rosie's distant descendants play or sing when they reach a planet
-how the music or words of a different song or piece of instrumental music changes in the generation ship context, how things might change in transmission or performance due to the musicians never having experienced the ocean or wind or the sky or other things the songs mention
-what the music played by Natalie's band sounded like
Zamonien | Zamonia - Walter Moers (Colophonius Regenschein)
This is a whimsical fantasy book series, though you only need one book for my requested character. It would be fun to see the lyrics and/or music of a song written about Colophonius Regenschein's dashing exploits, or maybe the humming music of the Fearsome Booklings.
