Posting requirements:
Your request centers around at least one character of color.
(I acknowledge there are some shortcomings with the "person of color" descriptor. I'm also not going to police who is or isn't a character of color; please just use your best judgment.)
What you must include:
Your AO3 name
Whatever fandoms & characters of color you're requesting
What you should probably include:
Links to your letter or copy/pasted requests
A brief description of your canon or a link to a canon promo, if you think it's unfamiliar to most people & you want to boost interest in it
If you write for one of these requests, you can tag your fic with 'Chromatic Yuletide' to help readers find your fic :)

Dirty Computer - Janelle Monae
Letter: https://beatrice-otter.dreamwidth.org/411137.html#cutid2
My characters: Jane, Zen, Che
(tw: for brainwashing)
Dirty Computer is an album-length music video ("Emotion Picture") by Janelle Monae. It is queer, afrofuturist, dystopian hope-punk. The songs are gorgeous, the videos are lush and amazing (and NSFW). It takes place in a near-future world where people who don't fit into society are considered "dirty computers" in need of "cleaning," by which they mean wiping your memories. Janelle Monae's character gets caught, and the cleaning begins. (tw: for brainwashing) Most of the music video is her memories of her life, and she (and her boyfriend and girlfriend) escape at the end.
将军在上 | Oh My General (Web Series)
Letter: https://beatrice-otter.dreamwidth.org/411137.html#cutid
My characters: Ye Zhao, Zhao Yujin, Concubine Yang, Xuan'er
Oh My General is a Chinese webseries (60 45-minute episodes) set in historical China. It is about a woman who disguises herself as a man and becomes an incredibly successful general. Then after the war is over, she reveals herself and the Emperor orders her to marry his useless nephew, who isn't happy about it to begin with. I won't lie, there are some bits about gender that make me cringe, and also at one or two points the general sexually harasses her new husband and it's played for laughs because she's a woman and he's a man, but overall it wasn't enough to stop me from enjoying the show. Besides doing a lot of stuff playing around with gender, it's also very bisexual and polyamorous. The prince she marries already has three concubines, and they all live together in a large household, and the concubines regularly sigh over how much they adore the general, and the general definitely flirts with them a bit at times.
One Day at a Time (2016-present) (first three seasons are on Netflix, season four is currently airing on CBS)
Letter: https://beatrice-otter.dreamwidth.org/411137.html#cutid6
My characters: Penelope Alvarez, Elena Alvarez
ODaaT is a sitcom about a divorced Latino nurse, her two children, her mother (who lives with them), and their landlord. It is funny, heartfelt, socially conscious without being preachy, and just an all-around good time.
The Martian (2015) available on Amazon Prime
Letter: https://beatrice-otter.dreamwidth.org/411137.html#cutid7
My characters: Vincent Kapoor
The Martian is the story of a NASA astronaut who accidentally gets stuck on Mars. Vincent Kapoor is the director of the mission back on earth who is coordinating everything and putting together all the pieces needed to save the astronaut. And he does an awesome job of it, and I would LOVE to know more about him. In the book, Venkat Kapoor is an Indian-American (as in the subcontinent). In the movie, Vincent Kapoor is an African-American who had one parent who was a Baptist and one who was a Hindu, so might be biracial.

Light in The Night is a combination police-procedural-action and m/m rivals-to-lovers slow burn romance novel.
Warhammer Age of Sigmar Game
Characters: Zana Mathos
Age of Sigmar is an over-the-top epic fantasy kitchen sink setting, which was made for a tabletop war game but also has some tie in novels. Zana Mathos is one of the major characters in the Eight Lamentations series by Josh Reynolds, a series of novels+ an audio drama about different factions attempts to get their hands on powerful weapons.
Machineries of Empire - Yoon Ha Lee
Characters: Nirai Mahar, Garach Jedao Shkan

Lovecraft Country (TV), Ruby Baptiste
This is a pulpy horror/fantasy show set in the American 50s, where the characters become entangled with magic, adventure, and a white supremacist wizard cult. Ruby herself is a singer frustrated with her family, specifically her sister and Leti, and with living through the harshness of this setting. She gets drawn into the magic and tempted to the side of doing whatever she wants.
Star Trek Cats - Jenny Parker, Uhura the Siamese
This is a picture book in which the cast of the original Star Trek series is made up of cats. Select scenes from some episodes are represented. One of my requested characters is, Uhura the Siamese, the cat version of Lieutenant Nyota Uhura, head communications officer aboard the Enterprise.

Fandom: Ghosts (TV, 2019) Kitty
Copied from letter: I love Kitty because of her softness and gentleness, especially contrasted against canon’s implication that she had a traumatic upbringing and her occasional moments of sharpness. I’d love to see her less fluffy emotions and her relationship with the other characters, especially the Captain, explored. I tend to headcanon Kitty as having ADHD.

My Sister the Serial Killer - Oyinkan Braithwaite: Korede, Ayoola
My Sister the Serial Killer is a thriller book about two sisters, one who is the serial killer, the other who spends most of her life covering for her sister. It's darkly humorous and there is a lot of potential for expanding the characters.

Desus & Mero (TV)
Desus Nice, The Kid Mero
About the canon: Desus & Mero is a talk show similar to The Late Night with Stephen Colbert in content (sketches, comedic discussions of current news, interviews with celebrities) but very different in tone and range. The two hosts, Desus Nice (Daniel Baker irl) and The Kid Mero (Joel Martinez irl) are proud of their Bronx roots, they have a wildly dirty sense of humor, they’re gossipy but compassionate, and most importantly, they seem to have an endless fountain of energy that makes this show a fun pick-me-up.
I am also asking for Antoinette Conway in Dublin Murder Squad fandom, though I'm asking for 3 other characters in that fandom as well.

Seven Kingdoms: The Princess Problem - Avalie, Clarmont, Cordelia, General Falon, Hamin, Princess Jaslen, Lyon, Sayra, Zarad
This game is a stat-raising/dating sim hybrid set in a fantasy world that relies on diplomatic marriages for keeping peace between nations. The main character (MC) is customizable, and about half of the romantic love interests (and NPCs in general) are COC.
The game is in alpha, but the extended demo can be downloaded and played, legally for free, here.

(Anonymous) 2020-10-27 05:56 am (UTC)(link)Fandom: Unfit for Print - K. J. Charles
Unfit to Print is a Victorian m/m romance novella. Gilbert Lawless and Vikram Pandey became friends in boarding school as the only two dark-skinned boys in their form. Over a decade later, Vik is a crusading lawyer and Gil sells pornography, which is exactly the combination of skills needed to find one missing boy. I would love love love to see fic that dives more into their differences and similarities, especially around their family and racial backgrounds, and the ways they have to learn and change for each other.

Fandom/character(s): The Try Guys (Web Series) / Eugene Lee Yang
Description: The Try Guys are a Youtube comedy group, and Eugene Lee Yang is a member of that group. He's also released a coming out video. The group got their start at Buzzfeed in 2014 and eventually left in 2018 to form their own independent company. Eugene comes off publicly as being aloof and prickly, but can also be very warm and loving with his friends/friends' loved ones. The Try Guys lie detector series is probably recommended viewing: one, two, three. Any video here is worth watching, and this is just kinda weird but funny.

A television show with 10 episodes, set in America in the 50s with a supernatural twist. Requested characters include Ji-Ah (a Korean nurse who is also a monster) and Ruby Baptiste (a black woman who likes to drink and sing the blues but feels she has to put on a "respectable" face to be taken seriously.)
Snotgirl
A comic with 15 issues so far, about an "influencer" with self esteem problems who gets mixed up with (and falls for) a manipulative immortal. Requested characters are the titular snot-girl, Lottie, who is half-Japanese, and her possibly-vampiric possibly-girlfriend, Caroline, who is Korean.
