I love celebrations and holidays, and would really enjoy holiday fic. I do ask that the story not focus on religion or the religious aspects of a holiday, however. (Exception: imagery/allusions to a pregnant!Mary being like the Madonna are fine.)

What appeals to me more about holiday fic are its familial and cultural elements. Things like: being together with family, winter elements like snowball fights, cozy clothes, and warm drinks, thoughtful gift-giving, feasts and balls, and the “new leaf” and hope for the future that comes with the birth of the new year.

Fandom and character(s): Reign (TV) – Mary Queen of Scots, Francis de Valois
Prompts:
* I OTP Mary/Francis, and would as always love shipfic for them, but for holiday!fic I am also really interested in the broader cast of characters, if any of them appeal to you as well.
* For example, I strongly enjoy it when Francis & Bash are friends, and what better bonding time than the holidays? Do they have a snowball fight? Go out riding together? Challenge each other to a chess match by the fire? Do they give each other gifts, and if so, what?
* The friendship between Mary and her ladies is one of my favorite parts of the show. Anything about them at the holidays (AU in which Aylee survives is welcome but not required!) would be great!
* How is Mary and Catherine’s relationship during the holidays? What gifts do they give each other? Does someone try to assassinate Mary with a poisoned hot drink or celebration pastry, and Catherine catches them?
* Mary and Francis snuggle by the fire, wrapped up in cozy blankets.
* An awkward, joyful, messy, comedic holiday feast (or any of these attributes by themselves). What happens in this Holiday Feast To Remember?
* Mary or Francis gives the other a gift, in or out of bed.
* Mary and Francis plan out their New Year together, and dream dreams for the future.
* Mary introduces Francis (or a broader audience) to a “Scottish Holiday Tradition” (either Christmas or New Year’s). Only afterwards does she reveal it was all a joke and she’d made the tradition up entirely.
* Any other holiday-themed fic that comes to mind for you! As long as it’s a happy friendship and/or family-based fic, I will love it, no matter what it’s about. Surprise me!

Prompts:
* I OTP Elizabeth/Philip, and would as always love shipfic for them, but for holiday!fic I am also really interested in the broader cast of characters, if any of them appeal to you as well. (And although I have watched and enjoyed all three seasons, the first is definitely my favorite.)
* For example, Philip’s first Christmas as part of the royal family. How does he fit in to their close Christmas traditions, and how does he get along with his in-laws? I adore George VI in the show, and bonding between George and Philip, and George and Elizabeth, would be lovely.
* Any New Year’s in which Philip and Elizabeth have been feuding, and Philip thinks about things and decides to turn over a new leaf.
* Margaret is in her element during the holiday festivities. What is her favorite holiday tradition? How does she celebrate? Does she sneak away with Peter for some private festivities? (This is a long-shot, but if you ship Margaret/Peter like I do, I would also be entirely here for a canon-divergence AU in which Margaret & Peter married after all. Whether Margaret takes the deal, or a different deal is made, both are good; no AU death for Peter’s ex-wife, though, because that would feel wrong for me.)
* Philip didn’t have a close family when he was a child, unlike Elizabeth. How does that impact the way he creates holiday memories with his own children?
* Elizabeth and Philip (or Margaret and Peter) give each Christmas gifts, in or out of bed.
* I absolutely adore Anne in season three, and anything with Anne during the holidays would be fantastic! Tell me more about her and her youth and young adulthood.
* Any other holiday-themed fic that comes to mind for you! As long as it’s a happy friendship and/or family-based fic, I will love it, no matter what it’s about. Surprise me!
