Some clarification about crossover types:
• Crossovers tend to involve Fandom A's characters interacting with Fandom B's characters or worldbuilding, with everyone retaining their canon backgrounds. Ex. James Bond and Batman team up to defeat a villain, or Harry Potter falls into a portal that takes him to Westeros.

• Fusions tend to be AUs in which Fandom A's characters have always existed in Fandom B's setting instead of their own, often replacing Fandom B's characters. Ex. Thor and Loki as students at Hogwarts, where Heimdall and Peggy Carter are professors. (A fic like this in which Harry Potter characters also appear would be a hybrid between a fusion and crossover.)

Prompts!: I love Thompson's writing, as seen through his alter-ego Raoul Duke, and just want to hear Duke tell me about what wild experience he is having in the way that only he can. Fear and Loathing in [location of your choice]. I would love a crossover with any canon that you want to really show me the setting of, through the drug-added eyes of our favorite doctor of journalism. There is no need to explain how Duke has ended up where he is, if you don't want, he rarely does anyway. Drop him wherever you want. He is on a space station/in Middle Earth/transported to the Age of Sail, and it is not even the weirdest thing that has happened to him this year. He is here on a journalistic assignment, he is on many drugs, and he is rolling with it, perhaps with his companion Dr. Gonzo.

Some particular settings that I am familiar with and would be happy to see crossed-over: Deep Space Nine (or literally any Star Trek setting), Sunnydale, Middle Earth.

However, it is fine if I am not familiar with your crossover canon. If I’m not familiar, it’ll be a zany tour of a new setting. Sci-fi/fantasy settings seem particularly well-suited, but are by no means necessary. If you have a historical bent, let's explore the historical time and place of your choosing!

I love fics that treat Jane Austen’s Fictional World as a shared universe, and let characters from different Austen books meet up. The only Austen book I don’t know is Sanditon - all the others are fair game!

• I would adore seeing how Emma interacted with a heroine from another Austen! Who would she be friends with, and who would she dislike on sight? Who would become a Nemesis?
• Emma and a character from another Austen have an adventure together! How do they extricate themselves from a tight spot? Do they work together, or squabble endlessly?
• Emma tries her hand at matchmaking someone from another Austen. Perhaps Mary Bennet or Georgiana Darcy or Margaret Dashwood is “in need” of Emma’s matchmaking skills.
• While I massively ship Emma/Knightley from this adaptation, I would also be open to having her and Knightley just be friends/bickering siblings, and her falling in love with another Austen heroine instead. (Not with a different male Austen character, though, please.) And it doesn’t have to be a ‘standard’ Austen heroine, either! Mary Crawford or Caroline Bingley might suit Emma very well, for example.

12th Century CE English Royalty RPF/The Anarchy RPF
These fandoms are kind of awkwardly split up. Henry FitzEmpress | Henry II is in both. I would love to see them fused and characters from both interacting!

• What do Maude and Eleanor make of each other? Are they fast friends? Wary allies? Do they bicker? What do they admire and respect about each other?
• I don’t think Stephen ever met Eleanor of Aquitaine, but a) what if he did? What would their meeting have been like?! (Feel free to do a slight canon-divergence AU to make it happen.) And b) even if he didn’t actually meet her, what did he think of her? Of the legends that sprang up around her? What was his reaction to hearing that the boy threatening his throne had stolen the French Queen (and Aquitaine!) right from under her husband’s nose?

17th Century CE Stuart Dynasty RPF/LGBT British Monarchs RPF
The latter fandom isn’t actually in the tagset, because the characters who’d be in it aren’t contemporary with each other. (Not sure when that rule started - I haven’t done Yuletide in a while but I fondly remember offering for “Badass Historical Queens” once upon a time, with characters Eleanor of Aquitaine, Elizabeth I, and Hatshepsut!) But I would definitely love to read a story about LGBT British monarchs, especially James VI & I from 17th Century CE Stuart Dynasty RPF! I have some ideas about how this might work, but if you have a different idea go for it!!

• LGBT British monarchs I read as “pretty much canon” and would love to see: obviously James VI & I, but also Richard I, Edward II, and Anne. But I would also be interested in any monarch being interpreted as bisexual, or in trans interpretations (for the latter, I think a nonbinary Elizabeth I in particular could be really interesting! But any monarch you were interested in exploring a trans identity for would be cool!) [If the monarch being interpreted as bisexual was famously devoted to their partner, however – like Edward I, or Richard III, or Victoria – please no infidelity fic. Prior-to-marriage fic, open marriage fic, happy threesomes, after-widowhood, etc., are all fine.]
• Afterlife fic! In the style of A Proud Taste for Scarlet and Miniver, or however you’d like to style it. How do two or more LGBT monarchs get along in the afterlife? Do they talk about their experiences, their lovers, how they dealt with their sexuality, etc.? Do they flirt? Do they argue about political questions? Do they envy each other’s lives, get all “grass is greener” with each other?
• Time-travel fic! Any LGBT monarch time travels to one of the others. (Or multiple LGBT monarchs time travel together, to any time past present or future.) What happens next? What adventures do they get up to? Drama, romance, crack treated seriously, comedy…I am here for whatever floats your boat!
• A story in which two (or more) LGBT monarchs were contrasted. Could also contain fictional LGBT monarchs if your mind went there!
• So, for example: three gay royal weddings – Edward II & Piers Gaveston and James VI/I & Buckingham getting secretly married during time periods in which gay marriage was illegal, and Elizabeth III and her bride Ijeoma having a big huge Westminster Abbey wedding of the decade.
• Or the first time two LGBT monarchs found the love of their life, and had to come to terms with what that meant.
• Or a modern-day researcher finds a secret stash of explicit love letters by two royal gay couples, and realizes that not only were there two couples, but that the later couple found the letters of the first couple and kept them safe. (How did their descendants keep them safe for centuries? Or did they even know - was there a secret drawer in a jewelry box or trunk?)

Doctor Who/Emma (2020), Doctor Who/12th Century Etc., Doctor Who/17th Century Etc.
I just love the idea of any of the characters in these fandoms encountering the Doctor and/or traveling in the TARDIS! Comedy, drama, fluff, crack, crack treated seriously, adventures, slice of an adventure, anything and everything would be awesome. Any Doctor would be amazing, though I’m more familiar with the reboot ones, and Nine, Twelve, and Thirteen are my absolute favorites. Or River! River owns my heart. Or Missy! (I’m not really that into the Master’s other regenerations, but I adore Missy like burning.)

• I don’t really have any specific prompts for these crossovers, other than just “go crazy and I will love anything!” I mean, can you imagine Eleanor of Aquitaine on board the TARDIS?! Emma running amok trying to matchmake through all of time and space? James and George being Space Boyfriends for a while (and yes, I adore Alan Cumming’s portrayal of James on the show!! Obviously James should be a Companion for a while sometime after "Witchfinders," and bring George with him). Or maybe it’s right after "Witchfinders," before George, and James is a Companion and flirts outrageously with aliens and has a wonderful time. However you want to fuse or crossover the Doctor Who universe with any of these three fandoms, I would love it!

Time travel: With the way Vic and the characters in general are shown to be stuck with pain, and the generational trauma passed down from parent to child being a thing, it would be really interesting to apply time travel to this canon! Put Vic in a time loop, Russian Doll style with someone, or alone Happy Death Day-style, or Groundhog Day-style. Or do a Peggy Sue thing. Or Continuum-style time travel. Or mess with alternate dimensions, what-ifs with alternate selves.

Fusions with/worldbuilding from Silent Hill (the 2006 movie) or Stephen King’s It would also be welcome!

Vic gave me a lot of Buffy Summers feelings--between the sacrificing someone she loves, the self-isolating coping methods, the carrying so much inside while trying to keep together for others, the longing for a better life while feeling stuck in the one she has, feeling doomed to violence and horror, the troubled relationship with a young ward they both have with Wayne and Dawn--so I’d be into a crossover with the Buffyverse in which those two meet, whether gen or shippy. Buffy could be traveling and monster-hunting nearby, or they could meet at a bar.

I’d also be into Vic meeting Drusilla. There’s interesting potential fodder with Drusilla being a vampire who liked her vampire family and tried to remake it in canon after they had all gone different ways, how she was always set apart by her psychic gifts, and of course how her being a vampire is the end result of another vampire being obsessed with her purity and destroying her. Maybe Drusilla would like to be Vic’s vampire mommy--I liked the daddy thing she had going with Angel, and mommy kink that involves Drusilla wanting to play the nurturer with sweet talk and caresses, with the sexual element her relationships in her vampire family had, would be enjoyable! Or maybe Drusilla is the vampire who goes to Haverhill looking for Vic instead of Charlie.

Lovecraft Country (TV)

Time travel/time loops could be fun to work with the canon's horror and themes of being stuck in bad patterns and with trauma, and I think a Happy Death Day Fusion would be interesting for Ruby to go through!

Star Trek Cats

How about a crossover where they meet/must team up with their Enterprise counterparts, or other Star Trek characters? Original series, Discovery, and AOS all welcome for that. Also, I have yet to read Janet Kagan’s book Uhura’s Song, but it’s my understand that there are cat people in it and one is Uhura’s friend; if you can work that into the world of this book without my needing knowledge of the novel, it would be a pleasure to see it even if I still haven’t read that canon by reveals time! Other Star Trek cat people, such as Isis from the TOS episode “Assignment Earth,” and any other cat people are fine to include/work in as well if you’re so inclined; I am only familiar with TOS, Discovery, and AOS, but would be good with you including whatever references and worldbuilding info you like with regard to other Star Trek canons if you think I can understand the fic just fine without canon knowledge.

Maybe he hides out with Tyler, maybe Tyler’s house becomes a shootout zone thanks to John being there? Or Tyler and John are hired to work the same job - maybe it’s at a super fancy masquerade party :3 I very much ship this, so hot sex would be appreciated too!

Extraction/Kong: Skull Island: I think Tyler getting to track down larger than life monsters would be fun. I also think him having sex with Conrad and/or Weaver would be fun too! Sex pollen in the Skull Island jungle? Tyler stumbles into Conrad’s Saigon bar randomly one night and challenges him to a game of pool?

I’m curious to see more about how corruption could bring characters from these worlds together, or force them into conflict. Like, what if Sam had gone to IA instead?
—A murder case becomes connected to a S&O kidnapping case, and thus it’s a joint investigation (like the Murder and Undercover joint investigation in The Likeness)
—A detective stumbles into something at the wrong place at the wrong time and gets kidnapped as a result (possibly because even [insert criminal here] is smarter than to murder a detective)
