Two for One is an annual sub-challenge to help people who like crossovers and/or fusions find one another's requests.

Some clarification about crossover types:
• Crossovers tend to involve Fandom A's characters interacting with Fandom B's characters or worldbuilding, with everyone retaining their canon backgrounds. Ex. James Bond and Batman team up to defeat a villain, or Harry Potter falls into a portal that takes him to Westeros.

• Fusions tend to be AUs in which Fandom A's characters have always existed in Fandom B's setting instead of their own, often replacing Fandom B's characters. Ex. Thor and Loki as students at Hogwarts, where Heimdall and Peggy Carter are professors. (A fic like this in which Harry Potter characters also appear would be a hybrid between a fusion and crossover.)

I love Lemon Demon’s songs: they’re musically catchy while being unapologetically weird, and the lyrics are always interesting. This particular one intrigues me because of its tension between questioning the status quo of society and conforming to the mindless Circle, which, at the end, seems almost freeing from the burden of trying to fight the inevitable.

I have to say that my dream gift for this fandom would be a crossover between the song and the first part of Le Guin’s short story „The Author of the Acacia Seeds”, because the two canons beg to be united into holy matrimony. The song presents a story of an ant who is coaxed into submission, while Le Guin’s ant has clearly developed not only a sense of individuality, but a rebellious attitude. What is the difference between them? Just circumstance, different experiences?

The Expanse / The Wire: According to the season 5 trailer, Amos is going back to Baltimore to settle some unfinished business! I'd love to read a story where one or more of my favorite characters from The Wire (Omar Little, Stringer Bell, Bubbles, Kima Greggs) are part of Amos's backstory, growing up in Baltimore, OR are Belters. Naomi/Kima and Amos/Omar both sound amazing.

The Expanse / Black Sails: The parallels between Nassau and Belter culture interest me, with that tension between a distant imperial corporate super-power and the people trying to live between the cracks and make a future for themselves and their people. I would be thrilled to see Vane, Max, or Flint making their way in this future. You could even do something clever, crossing over or set in both time periods, if you felt so inspired. Hiddencait wrote me a fantastic story with Max running a Belter brothel last year, and it made me hungry for more. Gen, Naomi/Max or Amos/Flint would be great. Flint would be such a terrible moral compass for Amos!

Rivers of London / 221b Baker Towers: "Toss out what's impossible. Then take a good hard look at whatever's left, bruv, 'cause don't matter how mad, it's true." Sherlock believes the evidence of his senses, but is very, very suspicious of PC Grant and some posh DCI in his ends ‘taking an interest’. 221B Baker Towers is a gritty, fan-sourced, modern-day adaptation of Doyle's Sherlock Holmes where Sherlock is a young black man growing up on a council estate in London. There's very little actual canon, so let your imagination run wild!

Rivers of London / Highlander: I've got 3 potential prompts in mind here.
1) Nightingale might recognize Duncan MacLeod, in modern-day London, from his time working during WWII living in London, as part of the Resistance, or working for the British secret service.
2) A murder scene with decapitation and evidence of lightning strikes being investigated as a possible Falcon case.
3) Methos has finally tracked down those records of Nazi magical experimentation that went missing during the war, and gets caught trying to sneak into the Folly to destroy them.

Rivers of London / Foyle’s War: Thomas Nightingale, barely functioning after Ettersberg, is sent to work with Foyle and Sam in cleaning up a very disturbing library. Perhaps this was the beginning of The Arrangement?

The Boys / Deadly Class: "If you could get away with murdering someone, who would it be?" Here are two dark, ultra-violent comics with live-action TV show adaptations that could really work together. When we meet Frenchie, he describes himself as a gun-runner. He's also been a bank robber, an assassin, and a sex worker. And he is incredibly gifted with weaponized electronics and chemicals. He sounds very much like a rat graduate of King's Dominion! I enjoy the 80's setting of Deadly Class, but it's entirely up to you if you slide Frenchie back into that era, or move the characters from Deadly Class up into the 21st century. If you're interested in shipping, Frenchie is enthusiastically pansexual but I'd particularly like to read Willie with him on the DL.

Mercy Thompson / The Good Fight: Warren is canonically a private investigator for Kyle's law firm. What if Kalinda Sharma is the one who trained Warren and helped him get his documentation and PI license. How did they meet? Did they bond over their hidden sexualities? Is Kalinda a werewolf too? Enquiring minds want to know!

Mercy Thompson / Yellowstone: Warren worked as a hand on the Yellowstone at one point in the past and befriended Rip and Kayce Dutton. When he finds out they’re in trouble, he shouldn’t get involved – but he does. If you ship Warren with either, I'm 100% into it!

The Amelia Project is such a brilliant fandom for crossovers. Most canons have at least one character who would really like to disappear. Maybe Harry Potter is sick of all the attention post-canon and just needs to get away. Or one of tma gang uses The Amelia Project to escape from under Elias. Or Hannibal and Will use their help to fake their deaths in a different way to canon.

Untitled Goose Game crossovers are always brilliant. I would love to see Goose leaving a stream of destruction across any of the fandoms listed. Maybe in the MCU there is an Asgardian legend which tells of the horror of the goose and so Thor and Loki (or even Thanos) are terrified when Goose shows up. Or Goose manages to interfere with the one ring in lotr (or holds one of the other rings because it looks shiny and is therefore very powerful). Goose could also be a legendary figure for the Witchers and so when Goose starts following Geralt around (and likely stealing his swords and the like), Geralt has no clue what is happening (maybe Jaskier gets along far too well with Goose?). Maybe a statement given to the magnus archives about a goose that is not behaving quite like a goose should.

For the Harry Potter fusion:
- since I'm interested in the Renaissance aspect of the painting, what role does this play in the history of magic in HP's universe? Is the lady a witch, someone who studied magical creatures?
- so, this is a painting. I imagine it might have things to say about its own history: but who does it speaks too? I would prefer the interlocutor to be a woman, but you're free. It doesn't have to be someone who know from canon, it can also happen in the past (after all there are four centuries separating the painting and HP's events).

For a Once Upon a Time AU, I am particularly fond of curses, where memory is wiped. Perhaps insert the characters into Storybrook, Hyperion Heights or the Enchanted Forest and see if they can gain their memories back and then get a magic bean back to their land. Perhaps, they even want to stay and don't want to go back to their original lives.
For Star War Sequel Trilogy, I would love space bounty hunting or Jedi training.
For Riverdale, I would love anything involving the Serpents, Gryphons and Gargoyles or Pretty Poisons.

I think the Duke of Coffin Castle and Haggard would work well as distant relations or members of the same villainous noblemen society, and I feel like the Golux is the sort of creature who might well pop into Beagle's setting without any need for justification and that Beagle's setting is precisely the sort to accept him.

•    Final Fantasy Tactics/Final Fantasy VII: I'm up for Final Fantasy VII crossovers, as the game itself embraces that, and I think it would be neat to examine what somebody like Cloud thinks of Ivalice's oppressive feudal rulership in contrast to ShinRa's capitalism run amok. I'd even be open to an FF7/FFT fusion where the plot of FFT is transplanted into FF7's high tech Gaia, and the Beoulves are scions of an evil electric-power company instead of a powerful Duchy.

•    Final Fantasy Tactics/Vagrant Story: Out of the other Ivalice games, I'm both familiar with and a big fan of Vagrant Story, and I'd be open to things that address ways that the two canons (allegedly) take place in the same universe. I feel that there are a lot of opportunities to do something that might involve world-building or the exploration of similar themes (religion, filial responsibility). The Dark is just a generally good handwavy device for having things happen, and I feel it's a useful tool to bring characters together either in the horrific abyss of a post-death existence or via some sort of magical shenanigans that open portals between FFT-era Ivalice and Valendia. Stuff that touches on parallels between the Glabados Church and the Order of St. Iocus, between House Beoulve and House Bardoba, or some of FFT's doomed sibling sets and Duane and Grissom would all be welcome.

- I think in general rom com fusions for happier canons are just a good time; I've listed a few of my favorites that I think would fit the specific canons, but if something else calls to you, feel free to do that.
- I'd like to see a play with the dark humor (and... torture?) with a Good Place fusion for some of the darker canons. How do they reckon with the fucked up shit they've done and being told they belong in the Good Place? Feel free to include Michael or other demons from The Good Place (or not!), and you need a Janet (though whether she's "our" Janet or not is up to you), but I definitely want more of a fusion vibe, so no direct references to the humans, please!
- The Magicians is basically a Narnia/HP crossover at its core anyway, so like - does Harry Potter exist in that world? Is Narnia a world they can access through the Neitherlands? Obviously Fillory is more analogous to Narnia than a direct reference, but perhaps they go into the wrong world at first? I'm ambivalent on mentioning Narnia or HP characters in this - but if you want to, my favorites are (Narnia) Edmund, Susan, Eustace and Jill, and (HP) Neville, Hermione, Luna, and Draco.
- I also think a Magicians (again, novel, not TV show) / Secret History crossover could be fun! Both deal with fucked up shit happening at a tiny college in the northeastern US - go wild with it!

Is Cyndi Mayweather a reincarnation of Jane 57821 in some way?

Dirty Computer/Star Trek: is the Dirty Computer world part of World War III?

Dirty Computer/Batman Beyond: the dystopian/cyberpunk aspect of the Cleaning fits well with the more dystopian/cyberpunk aspects of Batman Beyond. Is that happening in the America that Terry lives in, and he's just never had to notice because he's white, straight, and a billionaire's protege?

Random Harvest/Downton Abbey: Of course the melodrama set just after WWI in England would be in the same world as the other WWI-and-after melodrama set in England. Maybe Charles (rich, influential politician that he is) gets invited to Downton? (Does Mary or Edith make a play for him?)

Random Harvest/Lord Peter Wimsey: Are there some political shenanigans requiring a detective? Does Paula|Margaret hire Lord Peter to find her missing husband? Does she work for The Cattery when she needs to get a job after Smithy disappears?

将军在上 | Oh My General (Web Series)/Xena Warrior Princess: these two shows have, as far as I can tell, about the same amount of historical accuracy, and the same amount of lesbian subtext, and the same amount of Warrior Princesses. And we know Xena went to China! So make her and Ye Zhao meet!

One Day at a Time/Stargate: what if they have the Ancient gene and the SGC tries to recruit them? Like, if Penelope got a job working at the SGC as a nurse, and had a deal where she'd live in Colorado during the week and they'd beam her back home for the weekend, with Lydia and Schneider in charge of the kids while she was gone, can you imagine the shenanigans as the family tries to figure out what she's doing and Penelope is like "nah, it's too weird, they'd never figure it out, I don't have to worry" and then they DO start figuring it out?

Hobson's Choice/Enola Holmes: I can't figure out if Maggie Hobson would be on the side of Eudora's group or be too practical and focused on her personal goals to be interested, but either way her intelligence and drive and independence and willingness to step outside the normal social bounds would make her exactly the type of woman they'd try to recruit.

Prompts:

My requested fandoms in Yuletide are Sarazanmai (characters: Reo, Mabu), The case files of Jeweler Richard (characters: Seigi, Richard) and Steins;Gate (characters: Okabe, Kurisu).
I love crossovers/fusions/AUs between them, especially if you include my requested characters, like Reo/Mabu meeting Okabe/Kurisu or Seigi/Richard, etc. I’m also fine with my requested characters from a fandom meeting characters I didn’t request (from a fandom I requested), especially if you think they have something in common or you find their potential dynamics interesting: for example, Keppi from Sarazanmai turning Seigi and Richard into kappas.

I would love to see characters from different fandoms becoming friends, as long as the story is focused on the ones I requested. About fusions/AUs, I’d like a story where my requested characters from a fandom take the place of the characters from Sarazanmai or Steins;Gate: for example, AU where Seigi is Okabe and Richard is Kurisu, etc. Feel free to joke as much as you want about Reo and Okabe having the same voice actor, or other cases between the anime adaptations I might have missed.


I'd also love crossover/fusions/AUs between one or more of my requested fandoms and one of these fandoms:

- Banana Fish. I think this would work especially well with Jeweler Richard, because of the Japanese Guy/Western Guy main pairing, and the potential jokes about Ash and Seigi sharing the voice actor. But I would love a crossover, fusion or AU with my other requested fandoms as well! I’m very familiar with both Banana Fish anime and manga, and I ship Ash/Eiji, so you’re totally free to include it as a pairing. If you decide to write a Banana Fish AU where 2 of my requested characters take Ash and Eiji’s place, please give them a happy or hopeful ending.

- Ace Attorney. I love everything about these games (I played the main 6 + the 2 Investigations spin-offs several times, and also watched the anime), so if you want to write an AU where my requested characters are Ace Attorney lawyers, go wild! Crossovers/different fusions are also welcome, especially “requested character is accused of murder and Phoenix Wright defends them in court”. I also love Phoenix/Edgeworth ship, so you’re free to include it if you like it as well (just don’t add other non-canon ships please). I’d be especially happy with my requested characters meeting Phoenix, Edgeworth, Blackquill, Kay and/or every character around them.

Kushiel crossovers/fusions: Nightingale or Varvara open a portal to Terre d'Ange thanks to Magic Most Uncanny, and end up having adventures. Or D'Angelines are a subculture of their own in France, and some have migrated to England. One or both of them have D'Angeline heritage, maybe? Or do a Kushiel-set fusion! Go nuts with that. I mean, there's a canonical magical academy in Terre d'Ange. Differences in magical practice in Vralia and Alba (or Terre d'Ange)? Since this is the Kushiel series, smut is welcome.

House of Leaves crossover/fusions: Honestly, I'd just love to see Nightingale and/or Varvara investigate the House and get increasingly creeped out the more time they spend there. Please feel free to do a deep dive into the HoL lore, or use the trappings for your story. Weird formatting (if AO3 lets you do that) is great. Interactive fiction might be cool for this if that's your thing.

If you write me a Very Special Episode of Taskmaster featuring fictional characters from various properties, I'd be delighted. What about 5 Doctors of your choice? Or an assortment of historical figures? I don't even have to know who they are, honestly!



• Aubrey-Maturin/The Terror: Stephen Maturin would be in his seventies at the time of the Franklin Expedition. I would love anything with him and Harry Goodsir: perhaps an epistolary exchange before, during, and after the expedition (in a fix-it scenario, natch) with Stephen trying to help Harry understand the nature of the Tuunbaq? Or maybe they meet at an Admiralty function before the ships depart. (I would also love any sort of bonus Jack Aubrey meeting James Fitzjames scenario, but Goodsir and Stephen are top priority!)



• Aubrey-Maturin/JS&MN: I would love to see Jack and Stephen taking opposite sides on the Strange/Norrell debate, possibly driving everyone else on the ship to madness with their constant arguments. Out of the two of them, who is the more adept at magic? I would love something where Jack turns out to have an unexpected aptitude for it.



• Aubrey-Maturin/LOST: Jack and Stephen stop at the Island for repairs. What freakiness do they experience? More importantly, do they meet Richard?



• JS&MN/The Terror: A little less than 30 years after the return of magic, the Franklin Expedition departs for the Northwest Passage. Do they have a magician aboard? If so, who is it? And how does that change things for them? Seeing as Strange was the Army's man, has the Navy stuck stubbornly by Norrellite principles in the years since the Restoration? Alternatively I would love anything that involved Sophia and/or Lady Jane using magic of their own to take an even more active role in a rescue attempt.



• JS&MN/Good Omens: Angels and demons are canon in the world of JS&MN. Please, please, show me what happens when Mr. Norrell attempts to buy a book of magic from A.Z. Fell's bookshop in London. (For balance, I'd equally love to see Strange and Crowley having a chat!)



• JS&MN/Jeeves & Wooster: Bertie Wooster, gentleman magician. That is all.
