As I'm ineligible to nominate because I do not write, I will sit in a corner and again pray that someone nominates Takin' Over the Asylum. I talked elf into it once or twice (I think) previously, but I felt bad for using up a nomination slot like that because no one wrote for it. Earlier this year it was rebroadcast on BBC Scotland, which has caused a burst of interest over on Tumblr (and David Tennant's having been in Good Omens has also catalyzed a lot of new fans digging back through his CV and/or bringing back people who had only been into Doctor Who before), so maybe more people will have heard of it now and it would be more likely to get offers?

(also I've read Gilded Cage and there are no significant characters that aren't in either Any Old Diamonds or The Ratcatcher's Daughter, so you should be safe with characters for that.)

The Little Stranger - Sarah Waters (Caroline, Roderick, Faraday, ??)

Mary Reilly - Valerie Martin (Mary Reilly, Henry Jekyll, Edward Hyde, ??)

I'm divided between nominating Mrs. Ayres or Betty for the fourth Little Stranger slot; if anyone has a preference, let me know. If you have any suggestions for more specific ways to nominate the unnamed governess character in Turn of the Screw, I'm open to them as well!

I don't know the Sarah Waters book, but The Turn of the Screw and Mary Reilly are awesome; I'd be super tempted to at least treat those if I have time, regardless of whether I sign up officially!

- Fence (Comics) - Harvard Lee, Aiden Kane, Nicholas Cox, Jesse Coste
Do you like the en garde! kind of fencing? Do you like gay teenage boy angst? Then you want Fence! It's by C. S. Pacat and is a ton of fun. Come to the fencing side!

- Steve Jackson's Sorcery! - Steve Jackson - The Adventurer, The Archmage, Naggamanteh, The Time Serpent
These are Fighting Fantasy gamebooks with a four-book arc and tons of crunchy old-school adventuring and interesting monsters. It's not hard to find used copies for sale from either the USA or the UK.

- Star Realms (Video Game) - This does not exist yet on AO3 as far as I can tell. I want to nominate the app version (I play it on an iPad), although it's a conversion of a deck building card game. The base version (against Easy and Medium AIs) is free, it's quick to learn and quick to play matches, there's a campaign mode, and it would make for fun war! in! space! worldbuilding for the factions.

Hey, friends! It's been a bit. Things I'm thinking about this year include:

The Iron Giant - I'm in it for Dean/Annie nonsense, but I'd also nominate Hogarth and the Giant, probably.

X-Men: Legacy - I want Ruth/David stuff really, really bad. :< (On the other hand, I also want fixit fic for Terrible Decisions that happened in Uncanny this year, re: Ruth, but idk if there's a good way to nominate that.) Do we still have to figure the numbers for individual characters to ensure they're appable? There's a fair amount of David fic, but most of it is TV canon rather than comics. :|a

(I also straightup just want to talk X-nonsense with anyone else considering nominating stuff, haha. To me, my X-fans.)

Sabriel - Honestly, I'm really interested in That Time Sabriel Got Her Period And Wigged Out And Used The Bells To Figure It Out, or else kissing with her and Touchstone. IDK.

Doom Patrol - Probably TV, because I just Really Love Rita Farr, Okay, if I nominate it. Honestly, it's something I'd probably prefer to write than ask for, so IDK if I will, but. You know, we'll see. In consideration.

Still debating. Some possibilities:

Sanditon (2019): Clara and Esther (because I'm hoping for some Clara/Esther) definitely and I'll probably just go ahead and add Charlotte and Gigi on there, but those last two spots are negotiable if someone else has another character(s) they'd really love to see nominated.

Dreamcatcher's "Deja Vu" music video: Minji/Jiu's character and Yoohyeon's character. There's a whole novel's worth going on in this mv (including the other DC girls as, like, knights of the rectangular table?) full of epic romance and tragedy.

Picnic at Hanging Rock 2018: Still wishing for either shippy or gen Miranda/Marion/Irma fic. The last spot is up for grabs if anyone wants another character.

Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell: I'm unsure of which characters to ask for. What I really want is that ~feel of that book with the footnotes and wild magic and the weight of history and eeriness everywhere. Perhaps I'll go with some of the historic magicians mentioned throughout the book.

High Rollers D&D (Aerois campaign) - definitely Quill and Lucius, still debating which two between Nova, Sentry, and Aila if anyone has preferences (it would be great to have the whole gang if anyone else is nominating it too!)

Wayward Children series - Jack Wolcott and Katherine Lundy for sure. The last two are open (if no-one has requests, I'll probably do Nancy and maybe Loriel?)

Swallows and Amazons - I want everyone. I'll probably do either "younger kids" (Titty, Roger, Dick, Dot) or "older kids" (John, Nancy, Susan, Peggy) but I haven't decided which yet... Another fandom I'd be delighted to coordinate nominations on!
