FANDOM NAME: W.I.T.C.H. (Cartoon)

WHAT MAKES IT GREAT: Based on the comic of the same name, but with a different take on the story, this show is about five ordinary girls becoming magical guardians with elemental powers and who look like fairies with striped tights. The initial story arc has them fighting an evil prince and his minions, who are searching for the lost princess and rightful ruler so as to drain her powers. The only character in the tagset is Cornelia Hale, the guardian of earth. She's proud and stubborn but very devoted to those she loves, like her best friend Elyon, the lost princess.

If you like magical girl adventures interspersed with some school stuff, or like one of them and don't mind the other, give this a shot! The stories are fun and the friendships are nice. The second season was run by Greg Weisman, that guy known for the Gargoyles show, if that tempts you.
