FANDOM NAME: Fever Pitch (1997)

WHAT MAKES IT GREAT: Colin Firth and Mark Strong . . . might finally get to play happy boyfriends! Seriously, if you're in need of seeing these two happy (so, not Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy) and together (so not Before I Go to Sleep, and the Kingsman films are out of the running), this might be the canon for you! If you can ignore what an illogical and humorless pill the main female character is, there's so much to play with. Paul (CF) and Steve (MS) are genuinely close - they hang out regularly, have shorthand/inside jokes with each other, borrow clothing from each other, and are brothers in that peculiar sorrow of having your team (Arsenal) disappoint you time and again. Surely every fan can relate to that?
