Yuletide Writing Meetups 2018

Do you want to write companionately, have in-person word wars, or commiserate about Bears with other Yuletiders?

Comment here with your general location and whether you want to organize or attend writing meetups!

--

I'm in Boston, and I'm organizing a weekly/every-other-weekly writing meetup. Currently looking at alternating-ish Saturdays and Sundays in Porter Square and downtown (see below for more info).

Last year, meeting in a coffee/food-type place in Porter Square on Sunday afternoons (~1 or 2pm-ish) worked well for many of us. I know that there are Boston/South Shore-type folks who found Somerville a trek, so please let me know if you know a good location in downtown/etc, so we can alternate between the two. I don't know downtown very well, so I need some help here :)

Please let me know if you'd prefer a non-weekend time, and if you'd be willing to organize those, since I'm not available most weekdays (including weekday evenings).

Please also let me know about any accessibility needs (mobility, public transit, financial, sensory, etc).

Looking forward to it!

OK. Next week, I've got a 4pm flight out of LaGuardia -- though I don't mind doing a briefer meetup. After that, though, my schedule will be a lot clearer on Fridays.

And great! I'm not on Discord, but my students say great things about it -- mostly with regard to their gaming discussions . . .

If you've got a 4 p.m. flight out of LGA, I'm guessing you'll want to head there around 1, so let's look at the 9th if that works for you.

Sounds good! I'll try to stake out space on the comfy couches near the back. I have shoulder-length blonde hair and brown glasses . . .

I'm short and white and usually wear a grey wool flatcap and a green jacket. I'll print a sign with a hippo. :D

EDIT: Aha, found a reasonably recent photo userpic.

It's 6 a.m. and I'm just getting to bed, and I really need at least six hours of sleep if there's going to be any point to me going to a writing meetup, so I will probably arrive around 1:30 or 2.

I did make the sign. If you want to print out a copy of your own, since you'll probably get there before I do, here's the PDF:

I already printed one and will bring it with me.

See you this afternoon!

Ha! I got up before you went to bed. (My partner works in a park so is on an early shift, and alas, once they are up and moving about, I'm wide awake.)

Printed out the sign, but as my printer is a black-and-white Laserjet it will be a sad shadow of itself. ;-)
