I'm in Boston, and I'm organizing a weekly/every-other-weekly writing meetup. Currently looking at alternating-ish Saturdays and Sundays in Porter Square and downtown (see below for more info).

Last year, meeting in a coffee/food-type place in Porter Square on Sunday afternoons (~1 or 2pm-ish) worked well for many of us. I know that there are Boston/South Shore-type folks who found Somerville a trek, so please let me know if you know a good location in downtown/etc, so we can alternate between the two. I don't know downtown very well, so I need some help here :)

Please let me know if you'd prefer a non-weekend time, and if you'd be willing to organize those, since I'm not available most weekdays (including weekday evenings).

Please also let me know about any accessibility needs (mobility, public transit, financial, sensory, etc).

TODAY, 11/17: Darwin's Ltd coffee shop, 148 Mt Auburn St (right outside Harvard Square), 1pm 'til ~4pm

Sunday, 12/2: Porter Sq. Panera, 1pm 'til ~4pm (or whenever people leave)

Saturday, 12/8: Porter Sq. Panera (OR OTHER PROPOSED LOCATION-- comment with ideas/preferences!!), 1pm 'til whenever

Saturday, 12/15: downtown coffee shop! Thinking Cup (165 Tremont St, Boston)? Jaho (665 Washington St, Boston)? Location TBD! Please comment with ideas/preferences!, 1pm 'til whenever

Sunday, 12/16: Porter Sq Panera, 1pm 'til we all finish our fics ;)

I'm intrigued by Boston-area options.

(I am, however, not a person anyone should plan on having at any particular event unless it's confirmed on my calendar. Chronic health stuff that limits how much out of the stuff I can manage outside necessities like work.)

Porter's very easy for me, downtown Boston would be more complex but not impossible for me (Red Line adjacent is easier for me than other options.) I have a regular thing roughly every other Saturday until 2pm.

If anyone is located such that Arlington is easier for them (or possibly Watertown), I'd also be interested in talking about something weeknight in either location.

always down for Boston meet-ups, and I'll probably try to organize some downtown on weeknights in November. I'm planning on being at the Porter Sq Panera on 10/7 and 10/21 if anybody wants to work on ToT or get a head start on their letters! there's lots of space there and free wifi.

Yes! I'll join you at the Porter Sq Panera on 10/7! Not sure about 10/21 yet, but that looks likely, too :)

What time range are you looking at being there for?

I'll be there from 2-7pm but tbh I realize that most people don't want to sit in a chain restaurant for that many hours in a row, I just don't have anywhere to go before contra so it's easier if I stay put XD so feel free to drop by whenever!

I live in Medford and work in Boston, and would love to meet up with folks for Yuletide or ToT writing. I can usually meet on Wednesdays and weekends.

Throw me in as a potential Boston person as well. Porter is very convenient for me and I prefer weekends, but I could do some weekday nights, possibly.

Also Boston area and limited by public transportation. Porter is perfect! Weekends are better for me, because I have a long commute and by the time I get home there is only time to eat and relax a little before bedtime!

I don't know for certain that I will get out to a meetup, but I'd like to try!

Going to potentially say maybe for Porter. Admittedly I always dig my heels in about crossing the river since I live and work downtown, so I'm open to options as long as they're on the T (red line preferable).

On the Red Line for MBTA folks, and 2-hr parking in the reasonably-sized lot for car people

We'll try to snag a booth near the door, if possible, but if not, we may be downstairs or further back.

aaand I'll make an actual sign this year!

I would love to come to one, didn't see this until it was too late... I'd be taking commuter rail in to Porter so that's basically perfect (downtown would take a little more planning but could be done). I'll subscribe to the thread or do you usually do an email list or something?

Shhh, it's not a month 'til the posting deadline and I'm finally posting the Boston write-in schedule, why would you say that? (But seriously, sorry for the incredible delay, ankle sprain+sick has taken up more of my brain than desired.)
