YT18 Nominations Coordination

For Yuletide, you can nominate up to 3 fandoms and up to 4 characters in each fandom. See what you can nominate at the admin LJ or DW.

Nominations will run from the 12th to the 21st of September. Nominations will be approved after that, and the full tag set will be visible around 7 October.

Before tags are approved, you can only see your own nominations. So that you can make strategic use of your slots, we’ve set up a google form and spreadsheet for sharing information.

This form and spreadsheet allow you to

-enter what you’re planning to nominate
-edit your choices if you change your mind
-enter a wishlist of things you hope other people will nominate
-look at other people’s choices
-look at other people’s wishlists
-confirm your choices when you’ve submitted them on AO3

-and (NEW!) indicate whether your nominations are approved, rejected, or something else. This feature is now live. If you've submitted the form already, edit it and tick the new questions under Nominations. If you haven't, it will come up as part of a new form.

You can fill out the form anonymously, or you can enter a name/code/identifier to mark which choices are yours. You can enter an email address, so that your response and a link to keep editing are automatically sent to you, or you can enter a fake email address and save the edit link at the end.

Consider also posting your nominations and confirmations in the comments - more people may be able to see them.

This is not your official nomination. It is optional. Your choices will only be included in this year’s Yuletide if you added them to the Yuletide 2018 tag set.

Just finished filling in the wishlist & nomination spreadsheet forms to drop in my projected tags. I may have been keeping a notebook since last December with noms for 2018. *cough of slight embarrassment*

Anyway, I've yet to decide which my third-nominated fandom is going to be, so I put the three I'm trying to decide between into the wishlist, in case anybody else fancies picking one of them when reminded they exist (I have way too many fandoms, and too many of them qualify for Yuletide, and I know I am not the only one here in this situation *g*). I know Indexing has made it into the nomination list more than once before without any input from me, so I'm guessing that one may be quite likely to do so again.

So I'm contemplating women's soccer! I've nominated a number of different subsets in the past and I'm not sure what I want this year. Anyone want to chime in? Thinking about possibly the CANWNT, maybe an NWSL team (probably the Spirit or Red Stars, maybe the Royals), maybe even NWSL teams anthropomorfic? With most of those I'd probably have some character spots open for other folks.

I'm definitely nominating the 1997 film Fever Pitch and have two character slots still available, as I'm only nomming Paul and Steve.

There are a fair few fandoms that seem to crop up in Yuletide reliably year after year, but in case that doesn't happen, I've listed one in my wishlist, which right now stands at Endeavour, Jeeves, and The Music Man. Happy to discuss character slots for any of those as well.

Thanks for the suggestion! I'm not interested in organising a parallel means of collecting people's nominations this year. I recommend that if you like discussion, you start a conversation by posting a comment about the nominations you're considering, or nominations you're pleased to see mentioned by others.

Jordskott! I was planning on nominating Bahar & Klara for sure, but I love everyone and haven't thought about what combination of Ylva/Ida/Eva/Esmeralda/Josefine I want to put in my last two character slots.

Anthropomorphic Ocean with Sharks, turtles, octopus and pufferfish as characters and Critical Role RPF (Liam O'brien, Sam Riegel, Taliesin Jaffe, Matthew Mercer) as my final nod.
