I'm a little overexcited so this is not a very short comment but small fandoms! my life!

FANDOM NAME: Marco Polo
WHAT MAKES IT GREAT: Period piece not set in Europe, for one (it's about Marco Polo in the court of Kublai Khan, but really mostly about the court of Kublai Khan). Lots of beautiful people and good ships, including one briefly canon f/f ship and a lot of slashy subtext between Prince Jingim and Marco himself. And a lot of moral crises and political intrigue.
WHERE CAN I FIND IT?(optional): Netflix.

FANDOM NAME: Kado: The Right Answer
WHAT MAKES IT GREAT: Mostly the really slashy alien/human ship? It has two main moods--cheerful exploration of "what would happen if a really powerful alien met humanity?" and dark yandere stuff, and frankly I'd love to see more dark fic for it but it lends itself well enough to lighter pieces as well.
WHERE CAN I FIND IT?(optional):Crunchyroll, or wherever you watch your anime.

FANDOM NAME: Kakegurui
WHAT MAKES IT GREAT: Insane gambling shenanigans at one of those unbelievable high schools paired with a ton of les yay. (...it can be kind of male-gazey but I think it's worth it for the femslashiness.)
WHERE CAN I FIND IT?(optional): Netflix

FANDOM NAME: Two Faces of January
WHAT MAKES IT GREAT: Well, the novel version is by Patricia Highsmith, who also wrote the novel version of Carol (The Price of Salt), and it's very suspenseful. I mostly enjoyed the movie version for Oscar Isaac and Viggo Mortensen playing mind games.
WHERE CAN I FIND IT?(optional): I watched and read it via Hoopla Digital, but at least the book is common enough that I bet you could get it through a library.

FANDOM NAME: The Alpennia series by Heather Rose Jones
WHAT MAKES IT GREAT: It's basically a series of lesbian fantasy books set in a sort of regency setting. Very plotty, also lots of femslash and an interesting magic system. I've only read the first book and I already recommend it without qualms so yeah, it's good. (and if you only read the first book, I would still write fic for you.)
WHERE CAN I FIND IT?(optional): Library possibly, or if not Amazon or Ebay.

I loved how femslashy Kakegurui was! Which characters are you thinking of nominating?

Now I'm having a crisis bc I hadn't realized you could only nominate three fandoms. But I probs still will nominate Kakegurui unless someone else does it first. I think I'd probably nominate Yumeko, Mary, Suzui, and...well tossup for the last one, but probably the president? Which characters do you like?

I have a fandom slot open so I wouldn't mind coordinating nominations for Kakegurui! Aside from the four you've mentioned already, the other characters I'd most like to see in the tagset are Sumeragi and Sayaka. (Which would leave me with two open slots. Is there anyone else you'd like nominated?)

I mean...Midari and Yumemi were both pretty great, Midari being so crazy and Yumemi being so...idk, earnest? she was cute.

I'm quite glad you let me know it interests you, actually! I realized only after making this post that I had chosen too many fandoms, and I was not going to nominate Kado after all. But since someone else is interested I have nominated it now :)
(If anyone else is reading this, I did not end up nominating Alpennia or Marco Polo.)

I agree so much and I’ve read all three books. Imo the series gets better and better. I’m going to do my own promo and include it ‘cuz there are things I like that you didn’t mention. :)
