Do you want to write femslash for Yuletide? Have you combed through the letters, but have no idea who these characters are, why you might like them, and if the potential recipient is looking for the tropey femslash fic of your shared dreams? Here's your post! 

Femslash Festivus is a collection post for femslash requests that you are making for Yuletide. Posting here doesn't obligate you to do anything, but it helps other femslashers find you and treat you. 

Posting requirements: 

• Your request centers around a femslash pairing or poly arrangement involving at least two characters who identify as female in the canon. The femslash pairing can't just be a smaller part of a long dudeslash prompt. 
• I'm not going around the post policing whether or not your letters are femslash-y enough, but please be considerate and do not ask for genderbent versions of male characters in canon, e.g. asking for always-a-girl!Conan the Barbarian paired with Valeria. 

What you must include:

• Your AO3 name
• All the fandoms where you are making femslash requests, with characters mentioned (so if you are only asking for gen in one fandom, don't list that one) 
• If you are asking for femslash in a fandom where you requested no characters because you wanted worldbuilding or OCs, this is perfectly fine! Just make sure you talk up the kind of pairings you'd want to receive in your post.

Devan/Delweth had a moment or two in the video, I'd like that explored. AU where it's Delweth that Devan seduces instead could be interesting. Those two as a power couple would be quite the force to be reckoned with after all. Would they betray each other at the end or not?

Darby Trellis, Sat, Raina Fuller

Darby/Raina is canon. I'd love to read anything about them, anything at all. How they first fell for each other, how they handled the break up during the year gap, what Raina thought of those stories she heard about Darby running naked around her college campus, getting back together during the show, what life after Dread looks like for the girls. Domestic fluff, high school romance, horror survival while holding hands ... there's a lot of options here.

I ship Raina/Sat hard. I would cry with joy if someone wrote this for me. Raina getting a crush on her art friend, Raina feeling jealous, Raina feeling ashamed, Raina deciding she wants two girlfriends, Darby and Sat deciding to share Raina, anything. I think they'd be good for each other, but also potentially messy with each other, and either way that'd be great to read about.

Darby/Raina/Sat would be lovely too. I mean come on: ladies supporting each other in horror, heck yeah! Let Raina have two girlfriends who love her very much.

Well. One of them is. The other one is one balled-up bear cat. Based on the final episode (and, let’s be real, all the others), the ship is basically conon.

Venus Fly - Grimes ft. Janelle Monáe (Music Video)
Characters: Venus; Woman with the Flaming Sword

This music video is a phenomenal piece of aesthetics while also making absolutely no narrative sense whatsoever. To be clear, the Venus character is the character played by Grimes, and Woman with the Flaming Sword is the character played by Janelle Monae. Also, they're probably in love, or at least make epic love.

Lumberjanes
Characters: Rosie; Abigail

Lumberjanes is one of my favorite comics of all time, and the Rosie/Abigail side plot doesn't get as much screentime as I'd like. Briefly, Rosie and Abigail were Lumberjanes together until an event drove them apart. You can find their canon story arc in Lumberjanes to the Max Vol. 2, Lumberjanes trade paperback 04, or Lumberjanes issues #14-17.

A note on an underage dislike here: I am okay with teenagers of the similar ages hooking up with consent from both parties. If you want to write a first time fic with Abigail and Rosie at 15 years old or older, go for it! If you write them as kids (5-14 years old), I'd prefer a G or T rating as appropriate: kissing and mild exploration of each others' bodies is fine, but leave graphic details for 15+ to adulthood!

This is an old and beloved children's book with no fic to its name. Depression-era, protagonist Robin is a bookish and clever girl from a struggling family which just barely manages to make it onto the property of a rich ranch owner hiring seasonal help. And the rich man has a daughter, Gwen, who befriends Robin and doesn't always seem entirely aware of the social differences between them, though Robin is very aware of it. The big dilemma comes when Robin's family needs to move on to other work and Gwen offers to let Robin stay behind and be her sister/companion, but it would mean abandoning her family to chase her selfish dreams... And actually the friendship isn't the MAIN plot, there's more going on than that, but with a little tweaking you totally can spin it as the main plot, and it's absolutely begging to be a femslash ship. Unfortunately the book is out of print but I'm sure there are some readers out there the same age as me who remember it fondly.

Exiles Saga (Many-Colored Land, Etc) - Julian May

Felice Landry. One of the 'ironic' names, because in canon, Felice is NEVER allowed to be happy. Canon, she's a young Psycho Lesbian with a sweet face and no friends, who maims men for laying hands on her, enjoys killing bad guys, is trusted by no one but used by everyone, tries to force a nun to love her, is kidnapped and brutally tortured into insanity by a man she becomes obsessed with, develops godlike powers, and goes Woobie Destroyer Of Worlds and blows herself up, taking a good chunk of a continent with her. (Not totally accurate but this gives the idea.) Everybody fears and hates her except the nun who is sworn to God and chastity. And I just want there to be a story somewhere in the world in which Felice gets to be happy. Somehow. I want her to get her psychic powers and fly off into the sunset with a girlfriend and be loved and happy. You will need to invent an original character for this, there's no one appropriate in canon.

Fandoms with potential femslash prompts:
Star Wars Legends: Knights of the Old Republic (Female Revan/Juhani)
Star Wars Legends: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords (Meetra Surik/Mira)

Both of these are older video games set in the same corner of the Star Wars universe's history.

f!Revan/Juhani is canon but sadly under-developed as an actual romance plotline compared to the het relationships in the game--the characters have an interesting mutual history that they slowly figure out over the course of the story, and toward the end when they may be about to die they confess their mutual feelings (or at least Juhani does; Revan can reciprocate if the player chooses), but there's not a lot of build-up to the moment and nothing much else ever happens or comes of it. I would love seeing any of this filled in a bit via missing scenes and such!

Mira/Surik (a.k.a. the Jedi Exile) is not canon at all and there's essentially no fic for it. You could be the first! (Well, that I've ever found, anyway). Tough, smart-mouthed bounty hunter who hates killing x the world-weary, semi-disgraced former Jedi general she'll kill for without blinking--what's not to like?

In terms of slash tropes, I'm a fan of friends-to-lovers, loyalty (especially loyalty reciprocated), slowly building trust, dealing with the past, saving each other (in a myriad of senses), and also characters who are into one another just doing canon-appropriate stuff together--dodging Sith troopers and wraid beasts, training, talking about the Force, whatever. I'm definitely open to smut, although my tastes in that area run relatively soft-focus and a bit vanilla (definitely yes: lots of foreplay, lots of touching, hesitations overcome, discovering one another's bodies, rough sex when both parties are into it, character thoughts about what's going on; not so much: graphic body fluid stuff, serious pain, noncon/dubcon, formalized BDSM).
