Seconding how great the first game is! It's the only one I've played but I love it.

You should definitely give the others a try! The graphics have aged rather unfortunately, but the stories are still strong. (I mean, the whole reason I've requested this fandom half a dozen times is because the third game left me on an emotional cliffhanger I still want resolved.)
