Fantasia (1940)
What's awesome about it: Specifically this is about the The Pastoral Symphony by Ludwig van Beethoven section! Describe by wikipedia as: A mythical Greco-Roman world of colorful centaurs and "centaurettes", cupids, fauns and other figures from classical mythology is portrayed to Beethoven's music. A gathering for a festival to honor Bacchus, the god of wine, is interrupted by Zeus, who creates a storm and directs Vulcan to forge lightning bolts for him to throw at the attendees.
Sounds great, right? It's full of amazingly pretty fantasy creatures, such as centaurs, pegasus, unicorns, and fauns!
They all seem to have a society - they're even working on a festival together.
The centaurs are my favourite part, here are the designs of the ones nominated:
It's a short about a fantasy society of mythological creatures, pretty much, and I think there's a lot of room to create there.
