When I sign up, I try to avoid offering "gimme" fandoms with quick-to-review canons (e.g. standalone movies, songs, etc.). It's useful to have those available as a fallback position, and if you match on them, it defeats that function.
(Conversely, it's considerate to include at least one of these in your requests if you can to give your writer the possible fallback --- but that tip's been here longer than I have.)
Of course, not everyone should feel obligated to do this (e.g. if you really want to write for movies or don't have a gimme fandom that wouldn't be disappointing compared to other options).
