Yulepoem 2024
In Yuletide, poetry is opt-in - only people who asked for poetry should receive it. This mini-challenge is one way for those who enjoy writing poetry to find people who would like to have that for Yuletide.
To participate, please comment with the fandoms you have requested for Yuletide for which you would like to receive poetry. You can also note what types of poetry you like most (free verse, sonnets, etc...) and any ideas you have in mind. It's a great idea to also link to your letter if you have one.

Fandoms I'd love poetry for: I'd be over the moon for poems as treats in any of my requested fandoms (Candela Obscura, Fear & Hunger (Video Games), Killjoys (TV) and Rook & Rose - M. A. Carrick). I think writing a 1k+ words poem based on my requests could be tricky, except for my Fear & Hunger request. I'd love worldbuilding for this fandom and one sort of worldbuilding could be what kind of poetry this world has! A fic that is a collection of different poems written by all manner of people from the Fear & Hunger setting would make my week <3

I love poetry! One of my requested "canons" is RPF about Enheduanna, most famous for being a poet; another is The Jewels of Aptor, where one of the main characters is a poet; another is "Sam Jones," a song. Poetry slots right in to the stuff I like.

I would love poetry for any one of these!
My favorite thing about poetry is fixed forms, and being creative within them. Sonnets are wonderful, as are more esoteric ones - the villanelle, the rondel, the sestina, the ghazal. But any kind of lyricism, including free verse and shaped-poems, are a delight. Whether it is a gift in itself, or is incorporated into a fic.
Filk, in the form of a song parody, is also super cool. ("Sam Jones" is a filk song after all! An original tune one, but filk nevertheless.)

Fandoms I'd love poetry for: Any of them if you're up for it, but I think Final Fantasy IX is ripe for classical poetry especially since one of my prompts revolves around external/secondhand texts by scholars and poets about the titanic romance that is Zidane/Dagger. :) Yippee!
