Yuletide Fandom Promo 2024!

Welcome to the Fandom Promo post, everyone!
Here's where you get those eyes on your fandoms for sign-ups!
Share what makes your Yuletide fandoms the shiniest and why you love them. A big part of Yuletide is how small our fandoms can be, and this is a good way to make sure other people know what gems there are out there!
Cheju has started a spreadsheet for promo! Here's the link!
Here are some areas you can cover:
Title:
Please put your fandom's title in the subject of your comment, too. This helps people find your promo again.
Media:
Approx length:
Where to find it:
(If giving links, please only link to legal sources. You may want to encourage people to contact you directly if they are having trouble finding a canon and you can give them tips)
What is it, in summary?:
What do you love about it?:
What sort of things are you likely to request for it?:
Are there sections of canon (rather than the whole canon) that can be consumed by themselves to fulfil your requests, or that showcase particular characters and relationships?:
Content warnings (ie, rape, incest, racism, gore/violence):
This is at your discretion and is not expected to be comprehensive
(Bonus options: What are you thinking of requesting for this? If you're thinking of nominating worldbuilding, what sort of worldbuilding topics might people explore?)
Useful tip (Not required, but helps people if they want to engage with your fandom!):
- It's best to make each fandom its own entry with its own title in the subject line! That makes it easier for people to find/see what you're promoting! Don't worry about 'spam', that is the entire point of this entry and you're using it exactly as intended.

Computer Detectives - Lavinia Harris (The Great Rip-Off, Soaps in the Afternoon, Cover Up, +1)
Media:
Book(s)
Approx length:
About 200 pages each
Where to find it:
Used 1980s paperbacks, unfortunately
What is it, in summary?:
Spunky fashionable teenager Sidney may not look brainy, and her name doesn't scream "girl", but first impressions can be deceptive. Joshua Rivington III is smart and wants everyone to know it. After a rocky introduction, Sidney, Joshua, and an uncannily smart and slightly psychic computer named Samantha Fight Crime!!!!
What do you love about it?:
This may have been my introduction to the trope of the semi-Byronic hero who is (slightly) Tamed By Love, and I am here for the Joshua/Sidney dynamic. I like 1980s conceptions of smart computers. I like psychic powers. I super love the fact that there are three more books in the series that I haven't yet read.
What sort of things are you likely to request for it?:
I am likely to request a new mystery for the three to solve, or a slice of life or missing scene.
Are there sections of canon (rather than the whole canon) that can be consumed by themselves to fulfil your requests, or that showcase particular characters and relationships?:
Yes! The first book, The Great Rip-Off is all I've read as of right now. But I wanted to make sure that the whole series got wrangled, since it's completely new to AO3.
Content warnings (ie, rape, incest, racism, gore/violence):
This is no Flowers in the Attic -- the one I've read is pretty straightforward teenage mystery with romance and some light peril. Hands are held. There may be a kiss. There are probably unexamined assumptions throughout, but it's not Dorothy Sayers.

I have one space left and would be happy to nominate an extra! (Right now I've got Sidney, Joshua, and Samantha.)
Re: Computer Detectives - Lavinia Harris (The Great Rip-Off, Soaps in the Afternoon, Cover Up, +1)
The one thing I have noticed on rereads is early computer weirdness. Also I feel like the whole cast was white, though I could be misremembering that one.
My copies are buried at the moment, but digging them out this weekend will force me to deal with the stuff in front of the bookcase, which I've been meaning to sort through for ages. But I was thinking about Sidney's school friends. CeeGee? Cordelia? Was there a third? I'll happily use a nom, because I'd just waste it on another fandom from the early 20th century no one's ever heard of, and three of those are enough.
Re: Computer Detectives - Lavinia Harris (The Great Rip-Off, Soaps in the Afternoon, Cover Up, +1)
The friends are Ceegee, Steve, and Cordelia.
Are you planning to read the entire series before Yuletide or should I stick to characters from the first one?
Also looking at the covers, I'm wondering why Josh had black/brown hair and Sidney had brown on the first book while on the last, Josh's hair is light brown and Sidney is blonde.
Re: Computer Detectives - Lavinia Harris (The Great Rip-Off, Soaps in the Afternoon, Cover Up, +1)
I have added Cordelia to my fourth space.
Josh looks so old on the first cover, I wonder if that was actually made based on the book or if it was meant for a generic teacher vs. student argument
Re: Computer Detectives - Lavinia Harris (The Great Rip-Off, Soaps in the Afternoon, Cover Up, +1)
I'm dithering about filling the last two slots with Sam & Jennifer Kennedy from A Touch of Madness, but I'll hold off for now.
