A clueless question

Is there any way to use bookmarks to collect all of my Yuletide recs? Or some other way, for that matter? I have almost forty bookmarks for this year's Yuletide, which makes it extremely tedious to do a rec post.

Or are other people just more dedicated?

You can put your bookmarks into the yuletide_recs collection to aggregate them with other people's Yuletide Recs. Or you can tag them with something of your own devising, like "stuff carbonel liked in Yuletide 2022," and then you can find them again when viewing your bookmarks, or link to that set of bookmarks if you want to share it with somebody else. (It will have a URL like https://archiveofourown.org/tags/Your%20Tag%20Here/bookmarks.)

You can also go to your bookmarks and put this in the "search within results" field: collection_ids:935355

(you can do that for any collection, this is how you find the relevant collection id: https://www.reddit.com/r/AO3/comments/z931mn/filtering_bookmarks_to_exclude_a_collection/ )

(ETA: if the question is not "how can I find them all" but "how do I easily turn them into a DW post"... well, you can just take that AO3 listing and copy-paste it into DW's Rich Text Editor. I'm not *recommending* that, it will be ugly as sin, but you can. There are ways to clean it up, of course, but it depends on your limit for tedium.)

Not that I know of. There's probably a browser plugin that could go from that list and download all the fics, but that's not what you want either; I doubt one exists that just pulls the share HTML, although it wouldn't be that complicated to code if you want to learn how! this one pulls the share data, but for only one work at a time. When I've done things like that I've used regex find-replace + spreadsheets to automatically turn the copypasted AO3 search results into a nicely formatted list, but there's enough overhead in figuring out how to do this and making sure it works that it's probably not actually worth it if you don't enjoy doing things like regex and spreadsheets.

But if you're not adding any extra rec'ers info, linking to the AO3 tag would probably be good enough anyway.

What I'd actually really suggest is just making a series of smaller posts, spread out over time, each of which has however many you get to before you hit your tedium limit. (maybe even add comments or notes if you're doing a few at a time.) People tend to like shorter recs lists better anyway, from what I've seen.

You can also make your own collection on AO3 and add your Yuletide bookmarks to it.

Brief how-to: mouseover your username at the top of the page, go to My Collections in the dropdown menu, and there should be a New Collection button on that page. Then go to your bookmarks, and each bookmark will have a button that says Add To Collection.

You could always link to a tag or collection containing recs on AO3, rather than list them on drewmwidth directly!
