» Spinning Silver - Naomi Novik • Character: Mirnatius With or without Irina, I just love him. There's something about miserable, pathetic little men who think they're the greatest that I just can't get enough of. I loved Mirnatius from his like, second scene, and I only loved him more as the book went on. I do like his relationship with Irina (as in canon, but if you'd like to explore post-canon, I'd be interested in your read on him after he's free for the first time in his life. I disagree that it would change his entire personality drastically, but like... I do want to see more of him). Happy with anything about him at any point. » American Girls: Kit • Character: Kit (though anyone else in the canon is welcome!) Kit was always one of my favorite American Girls growing up. The way she felt stifled by femininity and class and (largely) gender expectations, and her desire to become a reporter (which was not as common for women in the 1930s by far) - I feel like every baby gay who read those books loved her lol. I'd like something at least mostly historically accurate, but like basically everyone requesting Kit this year, I'd like to see where she is when she's grown up - in the 40s or 50s or even 60s! DNW: setting change - by which I mean please keep the canon setting canon. If you'd like to move her to a different location as an adult or write about her later, that is perfectly fine! I just don't want, like, Kit in the 1800s or present day, or in any canon fusions. » American Girls: Felicity • Character: Felicity I was always a Felicity girl at heart, and she remains one of my favorites to this day. I love her! Not just because I was a horse girl, or because I was obsessed with the 18th century as a kid. I love her personality, her friendships, and her relationships with her family! I know she canonically belongs to a wealthy, slaveholding family - I'm not, personally, overly bothered by whatever you want to do with that. I'd prefer nothing overly dark or focused on slavery, but it was a really cruel and awful reality that Felicity canonically was a part of. (If you'd like to move her to Philly and make her a Quaker - and therefore likely abolitionist - instead in an AU, I mean, I'd like to see that tbh) DNW: Felicity/Ben. I'd love something focusing on them, either when they were courting or after they were married (they are wealthy, so where did they honeymoon? what was that like?) » Mad Men (TV) • Characters: Pete, Bob PETE CAMPBELL! Love him!! Absolute dumpster fire of a human being!! He is my absolute favorite in this show, and I just kind of love watching him ruin his whole life. As a certain user on tumblr said, Pete is playing to the top of his intelligence (which is to say: he’s not very smart but he’s trying) and it’s honestly one of my favorite parts of this show. As for Bob/Pete... I’m unironically obsessed with this ship. Like… of all people…. Pete Campbell. Really, Bob? You pick the rat man? Basically all you need to know is in this video. I lose it every time. But seriously re: canon divergence - I am obsessed with what might have been if Pete had taken Bob up on his offer. Literally also I think a succession-style Tom/Greg kind of thing would be so fucking funny with them.
