2021 Yuletide Promo Post

Welcome to the Fandom Promo post, everyone!

Here's where you get those eyes on your fandoms for sign ups!

Share what makes your Yuletide fandoms the shiniest and why you love them. A big part of Yuletide is how small our fandoms can be, and this is a good way to make sure other people know what gems there are out there!

Suggested form to use:

FANDOM NAME:
WHAT MAKES IT GREAT:
WHERE CAN I FIND IT (optional)
:

(Bonus optional: What are you thinking of requesting for this?)

EDIT:

Useful tips (Not required, but helps people if they want to engage with your fandom!):

- Mention what form of media the canon is. Is it a comic miniseries? Is it a twenty season tv show? Is it a book? Is it a twitter feed?
- Is it standalone or part of a series?
- It's best to make each fandom its own entry with its own title in the subject line! That makes it easier for people to find/see what you're promoting! Don't worry about 'spam', that is the entire point of this entry and you're using it exactly as intended.

For reference, last year's promo post!

Gerald Poole and the Pirates - Johannes T. Evans

(Better late than never! :-D)

First published as a tweetfic thread on twitter; now being expanded into full prose form!

For the twitter version (which has the whole storyline), start here to get the warnings and then click through and read down. It begins:
one has to consider the gentleman who takes passage on a sailship and is often attended to by one of the lieutenants, who is unspeakably handsome, although the gentleman does often feel bad for annoying him bc the lieutenant is very brisk and stern with him

The expanded form is being posted on Medium—Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3! This is still in progress, so we're not yet all the way through the storyline in the tweet thread, but there's a lot of added character background and interaction.

What does it have? Being kidnapped by pirates! Some identity shenanigans. Gerald is cheerfully gay and dtf and would quite like to be ravished by the pirate captain actually, he should get on that already. So should that unspeakably handsome lieutenant who got kidnapped by pirates along with him... And it's really funny. Here, have a couple more tweets from later on to entice you:
"Gerry, not that I'd ever doubt you," Percy says lowly, fixing Gerry's collar, "but this is an actual kidnapping and not some sort of strange sex game, isn't it?"

"Oh, good," Thwaites says. "I seee you know Mr Poole quite well."

"You charmed them into wanting to keep you?"

"Well, I don't think I did anything particularly--"

"It's the fucking highwaymen all over again," says Percy.

"That was years ago!"

"It was last year, and they still send you letters!"

Join me in loving Gerald Poole, sunshine disaster of the high seas!
