2019: Swap! Goes My Heart || SIGN-UPS ARE OPEN.

Hey, swaps and swappens! Apologies for the delay; I have been sick/traveling/procrastinating. BUT IT'S HERE, IT'S HERE, IT'S TIME, IT'S HERE -- Yuleswaps sign-ups have arrived! Don't be like me and put it off; you only have until Sunday or Monday, depending on your time zone.

If you are new to swaps, or to Yuletide, and curious: FAQ here. If you are old to swaps, read on!


YULESWAPS 2019 SCHEDULE:

+ Sign-up forms are open now and will close on Monday, October 28, 2019 at 9:00 AM PDT. Click here for a countdown, as always! Tell your friends! Tell your enemies! Tell yourself to set a reminder on your phone!

+ Match-ups will go out in early November, provided we are not incapacitated by any more diseases or a sudden technology blackout. Probably over a 2- or 3-day period, because of mail merge sending limits.

+ This year's SENDING DEADLINE (for now) is Monday, November 18, 2019. Before signing up, please do a reality/calendar check to make sure you will have the money and time!


REMINDERS, ALWAYS REMINDERS:

+ Swaps Central: our all-in-one check-in form! You remember it. Still a thing.

+ Email: please be prepared to FREQUENTLY CHECK and PROMPTLY RESPOND to emails! Also, if you are new, we strongly suggest emailing us ahead of time at yuleswaps at gmail dot com, just so your email will know we're not spam when we send match-ups.

+ DW/LJ: we will post here after match-ups go out, so everyone knows they definitely did. Please see the FAQ for instructions on how to track the various yuleswaps tags!

+ Sign-ups: PLEASE read instructions carefully, and take particular care not to typo your AO3 name or email! There's always someone whose poor sender is like, "gmail.co????" #yes really

+ Defaulting: look. If anything untoward (money, anxiety, life) should happen to you AT ANY POINT in the swapping process, please don’t just disappear. Tell us, and we’ll work it out! Promise. We are very nice.

Yes, I feel quite sad about it!
A break is all that is planned. As a brand new and first niece will hopefully arrive two weeks before christmas, my energy is needed elsewhere this year.

Hahahahahaha. I usually let people play anyway if they've done it before and are responsible/responsive. I think I'm probably not doing Yuletide proper this year -- I love nothing and am kind of overwhelmed. Might treat/pinch-hit if I have some time, though!

(Yuletide is always more about giving than receiving for me; I like a challenge/assignment but often struggle to come up with requests.)

I know! Every year my friends are like, "Really? Still with the swaps?" and I always wonder like, at what point in this whole Becoming an Actual Grown-Up jag I'm going to become too busy to do this (I'd try to find someone to hand it off to, don't worry), but it's hard to give up!

They have not! I entirely meant to get them all out by today, but clearly that hasn't happened. Candy will likely go out tonight, and then drinks and books in the following 2 days HOPEFULLY. (The mail merge app thing doesn't let me send more than 100 emails per day.)

When they do start going out, there'll be a post here/on LJ so people know for sure it's happened. :)
