I know, right??? There’s so much cool stuff in it that is so little known to the general public (at least, in the West-- gah I have so many feelings about Eurocentric views of history). And I get so excited whenever I see a cool story that has a pseudo-Mongolian setting for fiction-- there’s so much there to play with! (Book of a Thousand Days by Shannon Hale and several of Damkianna’s original works on AO3 have great fantasy settings inspired by Mongolia, if that interests you.)
