I think a lot of people requesting/offering have only read book 1? Anyway, there is so few fan works for this fandom that I am sure it will be in many Yuletide's to come. Seriously, this series is one of my favorite reads of 2018!

Especially since the way Aaron is writing Jen now in the Avengers book is....not my thing. :-/

I kind of vaguely remember this from when I was a kid! I love the setup.

Characters in the Tag Set: Leslie Clark, Meyer Eastman, August Richter
WHAT MAKES IT GREAT: Richter and his boss, Leslie, are private detectives hired to help enforce Prohibition in Cleveland, Ohio. However, when Richter catches the eye of a charismatic mob boss, a different story falls into place....

Boy Love Visual Novel. There are 2 romance routes. It's fine to play just one route, but if you play both, you get an ending that ties both together, and I felt was very satisfying.

The music is great, the history factoids are informative, the detectives and the mob boss are handsome, there's some great 'dry' humor, and the make-outs were hot. I enjoyed the hell out of this game.

WHERE CAN I FIND IT?(optional): Free download Itch.io, Steam, some let's plays on Youtube

The itch.io link has some character images/descriptions and some screencaps of the game.

Classic films ahoy! I was lucky enough to see all of these in a local-ish theater that regularly screens old movies, so my "availability" notes below are a bit sparse :)

FANDOM NAME: If I Had a Million (1932)
WHAT MAKES IT GREAT: A millionaire told he's on his deathbed doesn't want to leave his money to anyone he knows, so he decides to give a million dollars each to eight people he randomly selects from the telephone directory! You get a lot of great vignettes, plus of course a killer concept you could apply to any original characters or other setting.
WHERE CAN I FIND IT?(optional): Apparently available on DVD as part of this W.C. Fields Comedy Essentials Collection (DVD also available elsewhere).

FANDOM NAME: The Talk of the Town (1942)
WHAT MAKES IT GREAT: IT'S SO THREESOME-Y.

An ESCAPED PRISONER (Leopold Dilg, played by Cary Grant) who is ON TRIAL for MURDER (he was UNJUSTLY FRAMED!) takes shelter in the house of a woman he's loved for years... but she has just rented it out to a renowned legal professor (Michael Lightcap, played by someone not nearly as attractive as Cary Grant) who has been tapped to be the next Supreme Court justice, and urged to avoid getting involved in any sort of news or controversy on that account. How can Nora Shelley manage this situation without disaster befalling anyone? HIJINKS ENSUE. (Not least because Leopold does not seem to treat hiding for his life with anything near the amount of seriousness one would probably expect!)

The legal scholar, from an extremely unpromisingly condescending start, comes to have a deeply genuine respect for Nora, and Leopold and Michael have A LOT OF DIALOGUE about how they have never admired another man or enjoyed his company so much! And while we are no doubt meant to understand that Nora chooses Leopold in the end (after each man hilariously tries to talk up how wonderful the other one is), she kisses both of them in about the final two minutes of the movie, so I'm saying a threesome is the obvious conclusion here.
WHERE CAN I FIND IT?(optional): IMDB reports it streaming on Amazon (unsure if geographic restrictions). Also available on DVD.

FANDOM NAME: The Uninvited (1944)
WHAT MAKES IT GREAT: This may be the most pleasant, good-natured group of people ever to be afflicted by a haunting. No matter what eerie or dangerous thing happens, their spirits never stay down for long! I'd love to see how they handle other genres of ~unusual phenomena~, or just to hang out with them in ordinary circumstances.
WHERE CAN I FIND IT?(optional): Available on DVD.

Whoa, somebody actually picked a choose your own adventure novel. And one I haven't read, but my local library probably has it. Snarky characters are always fun, but normally the choose your own adventure characters aren't very well developed. Do you like any other books in that series?

I know this messaging was like a month ago BUT I just got extremely lucky! Bella Books is selling Daughter of Mystery and The Mystic Marriage paperbacks for like $5 right now so I've bought copies and will be able to read The Mystic Marriage much sooner than I thought :D
Anyways I'm telling you bc who else in the world is gonna care man.

Seriously this is awesome!!! I had kind of a crap couple of days and there is nothing like a good book sale to cheer me up, so thank you. I bought the three book e-bundle from Bella so this is a great chance to pick up those two paperbacks, which are easier to loan out. Thanks again! :)

RIGHT?? I was so excited about it (still kind of am)! Like, lesfic is so expensive in general, and the sale at Bella was really huge so I thought I'd find a couple random paperbacks, but then it turned out Alpennia was included and I was just like? so happy? I have hardly any physical queer books, too, so that's a plus.

Yeah I hear you on that. If you don’t mind ebooks, be sure to subscribe to TB Markinson’s iheartlesfic newsletter- there are almost qtrly massive sales, a lot of free and $1.99 range books usully then.

Yep, I'm subscribed to them. I really do like their sales :) tho I've only found a couple books I really loved that way. I released a novella a little while back and they advertised it in their new releases newsletter, so I'm currently indebted to them I suppose... Anyways I agree that they are a very good source for ebooks! And I certainly read more queer ebooks than physical books.

Oohhh do share a link to your novella (dm if you don’t want to share here)...I would love to read it. My wife is working on her first lesbian romance novel and I understand the effort and bravery involved in publishing!

FANDOM NAME:
The Ice Palace — Tarjei Vesaas

WHAT MAKES IT GREAT:
It’s an award-winning novel from the 60s set in a Norwegian rural community in winter, centered around two 11-year-old girls who inexplicably, almost metaphysically connect with one another, and then are separated. It’s a tale about childhood, the tipping point just before puberty, loss, grief, and community; heavily symbolical, linguistically austere, absolutely beautiful and haunting. To me (and I do wonder if it’s just me or not), it was also about queerness; I doubt the author intended it as such, but I think there is something very queer about this book. I’d love to see it made overt and explored – and isn’t that what fanfic is for?

WHERE CAN I FIND IT? (optional):
In a library. On Amazon. Elsewhere, probably. There's a PDF online if you know where to look.
