Yulecard is a joyful, Yuletide adjacent mini-exchange where you send and receive a card in the mail.

About the Exchange:
This exchange is not fandom-specific and anyone who loves sending and receiving mail is welcome. You do not need a DW/LJ account to participate. Find the schedule & FAQ below. This is the first year of the exchange so we may have overlooked some details. If you have questions or concerns, please comment on this post or email us at yulecardmod@gmail.com.

Note on Addresses: The only person who needs to know your address for this exchange is your sender, so they can mail you your card. It goes without saying that you must never share someone's address or other personal information. 

Yulecard Schedule:
Oct. 13-Oct. 31st: Signups are open for Yulecard

First week of November: You will receive your Yulecard assignment. This means you will find out who you are sending a card to and will read their Likes and DNWs. You must reach out by email to ask for their address.

November 30th: Send your cards by the end of November. We will send a reminder email mid-November and a check-in email after Nov. 30th.

Ongoing: Pinchhits go out for any defaulted assignments. Please don't sign up if you think you can't commit to sending a card.

Yulecard FAQ:

What kind of card can I send?
You may send a postcard or card that you bought or made yourself. What can my letter include? A card and anything additional you'd like that can be sent in an envelope, like stickers, paper art, drawings, bookmarks, pressed flowers etc. as long is it does not specifically go against a DNW.

Does my card need to be season-themed?
No. Any card you would like to send is fine so long as it respects DNWs. You may incorporate your recipient's Likes if you wish - they are there for inspiration but are optional.

Can I send a card related to my holiday of choice?
Religious cards are opt-in only. Please respect your recipient's preference, which you will find in their sign up. If you have questions, please ask them directly.

I don't want mail addressed to my fandom handle to arrive at my house!
You may specify what name you would like your card addressed to when you fill out the form and email your address to your sender.

I made a mistake on my sign-up! Can I edit it?
Yes, you should be sent a link right after you submit the sign-up form. You can edit up until sign-ups close.

Haven't received an address request from your sender?
If you haven't heard from your sender within 3 days of assignments going out, first check your spam folder then please email us to contact your sender.

Need to default?
This exchange is meant to be fun and low-pressure, so if you are stressed, uncertain, or otherwise unable to commit to sending a card, please do not sign up. If there is an emergency that stops you from sending a card, please contact us immediately to find a replacement for you.
