What is it, in summary?: Your typical historically-inaccurate period drama based on the life of an impressive historical figure, except it's also about solving crimes. Lidia Poët is disbarred from serving as a lawyer in 1880s Turin, but she's not giving up on her chosen career. While she drafts her appeal, she takes on clients, working as her brother's assistant but really driving the cases herself.
What do you love about it?: The fashion is amazing, Lidia's outfits especially (and her insect themed jewellery!!). The relationship between Lidia and her brother Enrico is so sweet, they don't see eye to eye on a lot of things but clearly care about each other. Lidia herself is larger than life and I find her personality super engaging.
What sort of things are you likely to request for it?: Anything, really. I enjoyed all of the series, and I especially love Lidia's family life (her relationship with Marianna, as well as aforementioned with Enrico). I think her romantic life is plenty interesting as well: Andrea's respect for her and what she can do is especially compelling to me, but her and Jacopo do have that chemistry.
Are there sections of canon (rather than the whole canon) that can be consumed by themselves to fulfill your requests, or that showcase particular characters and relationships?: Since it's so short, I think it's best to consume all the canon.
