Monstrous Tide Mini-Challenge
Stories about regular humans are great, but for some of us, the call of the more-than-human, monstrous world is even greater. Can’t get enough of vampires and werewolves? Love terrifying otherworldly beings? Down for tentacles in the deep? Then this challenge is for you!
This mini-challenge is for people who would love to write or receive fic about monsters!
How do I participate?
Leave a comment on this post linking your letter if you’re interested in getting fic that features a monster or monsters.

What is considered a monster for the purposes of this challenge?
This challenge uses a pretty flexible definition of monster: if you think someone or something counts, go for it. If you’re having trouble deciding on whether a character fits within monstrousness, you might consider whether they fit within something like the following category: a creature or entity that is non-human or not wholly human that many find frightening, strange, and powerful.

Wanted and unwanted monstrosities: VAMPIRES!!! (two of my requested fandoms canonically have them), but I also love anything folklore-themed or eldritch. For NSFW related, fear of being bitten, fear of death, non/dubcon where the perpetrator is inhuman or incomprehensible. Not really into size kink with monsters, more into the psychological/fear aspect. I love both smut and extreme gore, but not at the same time (Vampire disemboweling someone before fucking someone else is good, Vampire disemboweling someone while fucking them is bad). Porn brain and horror brain is separate :).
DC vs. Vampires: vampires (especially Dick Grayson) being ruthless, overtaking humanity and keeping humans as farm animals. Keeping humans as blood cattle. Vampire sex with top!Dick Grayson.
Tales from the Dark Multiverse: Batman: Hush: Talon is canonically inhuman so I'd love to see that into play.
Maid Maleen - Mostly looking for horror. Maybe Maleen is a ghost or a monster herself, and that's why she's locked inside the tower.
Interview with the Vampire: VAMPIRE SEX and/or Louis struggling to keep from killing Daniel during that first interview.
Lord of the Flies - the character LotF is a formless entity that either exists in a character's head or as a ghost/demon that looms over the island. Would LOVE seeing interpretations of his monstrous physical form, if he ever gets one.

I'm open to pretty much anything that would fit this challenge, though I'd rather not receive anything with graphic descriptions of gore.
Of the four fandoms I requested, the supernatural is canon in Kolchak: The Night Stalker, but you can expand on or change up the "monstrous" aspects however you want. My other three requested fandoms don't fall under the supernatural umbrella, but you can monster them up however you see fit.
Vampires are my forever love, but I also like devils, fae, gargoyles, ghosts, incubi/succubi, werewolves, and various other supernatural beings that I've listed in my letter.
I'm a fan of supernatural AUs, with vampire AUs being my favorite type. (I prompted a vampire AU for The Guest in my letter.)
A couple of my favorite tropes are characters getting turned into vampires and characters getting turned into werewolves.

The Widow's Captive - Logan Spector
For this fic, I'd love focus on the canonical monster (The Widow) and aspects of spiderlike monstrous creatures - tropes of humans being caught in webs and toyed with, a little bloodplay (as a treat). The potential of The Widow's Captive experiencing some kind of body morphing trope also intrigues me!
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power
For this fandom, I'm especially interested in werewolf and vampire AUs. In the wider Tolkien Legendarium, there are stories of Halbrand taking on the forms of vampires and wolves, and I'd love fic that plays with those transformations in the context of his historical relationship with Adar. Would be excited for fic that features: one character turning another, a character struggling against transformation, fic that dwells on Adar's... storied history of transformations that society would consider "monstrous" and his relationship to the construction of monstrosity.

Prompts:
The Serpent Gates- Sethannai shares his body with a goddess, which has some possibility. I can see him eventually evolving into something more monstrous. Or maybe he was a vampire all along (he's a bit of energy vampire already). Tal's family could also be a long line of vampires or other creatures.
Necessary Evils- The boys would definitely work as a werewolf pack or vampire coven! or maybe their assignments turn supernatural with some monster hunting.
P-Valley- Give me all the magic realism vibes. Dark root work! Ghosts haunting the Pynk! Monster strippers!
