This canon takes place on the German side during WWII. While nazism is never shown in a positive light, the reccer understands if this is a deal-breaker from the get-go. Therefore, the majority of this rec is at my journal.

-Out and proud gay hero! During the 1940's!
-Love story featuring Gentlemanly Camp gay Colonel x Jerk Ace Pilot!
-Slice-of-life/shenanigans! Boys being friends! Euro-comic style adventures! But with beefcake
-Underground comic from the 90's with absolutely stellar inkwork!
-Army stories! But without the blood and guts and 'glory' bits. (For most of canon, anyway). Only the funny 'stuff we did in the barracks' qualify. Like accidentally drugging your superior!
-Characters who are relatable, funny and will make you cry. And want to punch them.
-Flamboyantly, fabulous main character who can be tough when he needs to be(Which isn't often, because he's so good at being nice).
-Lighthearted and campy! Well, mostly. Can be very serious when it needs to be, and doesn't pull any emotional punches.
-Unashamedly female gaze. Pretty boys drawn for maximum pretty. Uniforms. Jackboots. Pants? Ultra tight. Did I mention that a whole episode takes place in drag?
-Creative and colourful army banter and shenanigans straight from an ex-servicewoman (the author/artist, who is also a left-wing pacifist involved with gay rights.)
