thisbluespirit: Five alternate versions of the future for Henry VII and Elizabeth of York take place in this pretty fic. Poetic language abounds and entertains, and each idea is sweet and entertaining.
The A-Team (2010)
* You Should Fix It, Don't Throw It Away by
Tam_Cranver: The team tries to take a relaxing vacation after the events of canon, and the banter runs thick and high as their true calling arrives. Beautifully constructed, very funny and on-point voice for everyone.
Agatha Christie's Poirot (TV)
* Still Life with Flowers by
Rebecca: Japp has some incorrect ideas about Poirot and Hastings' relationship. Well. At first they're correct. Charming, canon-perfect prose and language with a sweet, homey, cozy feeling.
Alien Quadrilogy
* On the Shore, the Whale Bone and the Horseshoe Crab by
moemachina: Bishop wakens Ripley early from her sleep to deal with the fire on the Sulaco, Alien 3 is averted, this weird little family becomes a team, and lots of cute Hicks/Ripley banter occurs, with some great humorous intervention from Bishop. Marvelously written.
* Who Needs Sleep? by
Croik: Hicks and Ripley pass the time after being rescued and get to know one another. A great character study.
Anne of Green Gables - L. M. Montgomery
* The Indignities of the Body by
DCBrierton: Anne twists her ankle disembarking from a train and Diana sweeps to her rescue. the two of them quickly begin to bond in ways they never expected. Sweet, and gorgeously written.
* Winter's Eve by
Rina (rinadoll): A snowstorm brings Diana and Anne together and causes them to begin to long within the environs of the shared warmth. Sweet and cozy.
Animaniacs
* The Applicant by
Meltha: The story of how the brilliant Hello Nurse became part of the Warner family thanks to Slappy Squirrel. A really funny, great, fourth-wall-shattering piece that gives us some terrific backstory for her!
Baby-Sitters Club - Ann M. Martin
* Say Hello to Your Friends (Again and Again) by
escritoireazul: Jessi and Mallory are linchpins for the gang during Mary Anne's (second) destination wedding. The details of the Club's future here really make everything sing, and Jessi and Mallory are an adorable married couple.
* What a Genius Doesn't Know by
desertghost: Janine throughout the years, struggling with life and her status as a genius. An excellent character study.
Band Sinister/Society of Gentlemen - K.J. Charles
* To Be Known by
enjambament: A sexy, fun crossover in which Lord Richad Vayne embarks on an emotional (and sensual) journey while trying to uncover a blackmailer. Captures Charles' tone perfectly, is bright as a copper penny, and remains enchanting throughout.
Batman Beyond
* Assisting Mr. Wayne by
Beatrice_Otter: Terry's day to day life trying to manage Bruce's affairs (and filling in for Max) prove to be much, much more complicated than his night job defending Gotham from criminals. A totally delightful slice of life.
Bell Book and Candle (1958)
* Then the charm is firm and good by
angelsaves: Gil's powers resurface during the holiday season, which leaves her anxious about the future. Cue Shep stepping in. Just the kind of fix-it this character deserves, sensual and tender.
Bend it Like Beckham (2002)
* it starts with us by
framblebee: Jules and Jess make it to America and college, and they become roommates. It takes them a rather long time to figure out what their fellow attendees do within instants - they're destined to be together. A wonderfully fluffy, tropey fic.
* Rah! Rah! by
kirani: Jules and Jess adjust to soccar playing in America during their first semester, the riggors of roommatehood - and the notion that they just might be perfect for one another. Adorable!

* The Tarn-Hag's Son by
runwithneedles: A very touching portrait of a mother and her love of her very non-human son, and a picture of the Grendel and his mom.

The Big Valley

Calacious: When Victoria catches Heath in the bunks with a cowboy named Sam, he thinks that means rejection from his beloved family and the end of his time at the ranch. But well - he doesn't know his mother that well. A beautifully written, tender fic that flowers open beautifully. We should all have mothers like Victoria Barkley!
Black Mirror (TV)
* Life in Open Air by
scioscribe: Now that they've survived and are in control, the crew of the USS Callister have to figure out what happens next. Nanette and the others explore the depth of their existence and the uniqueness of their game world in this great little story.
The Book of Mormon - Parker/Stone/Lopez
* And Bring Them from Bondage, from Sorrows And Snares by
raspberryhunter: Post-canon, Kevin Price goes to Harvard and experiences a crisis of faith that causes him to question his sexual identity as well as his identity as a Mormon. A lovely character study.
The Boxcar Children - Gertrude Chandler Warner
* with a little luck, a little bit of faith by
Doranwen: The Alden children, alone in a world stricken by a plague that's killed off all of the adults, try to figure out how to survive. At turns harrowing and touching, and perfectly on-tone for the books.
Boy Meets World (TV)
* Fall Back Together by
natacup82: A break-up doesn't prevent Angela and Shawn from finding one another in this lovely alternate version of the events of life post-Boy Meets World.
The Breakfast Club (1985)
* Bender's Spring Cleaning by
rhps_brad_fan: At the end of the school year, Bender empties his locker out and discovers a year's worth of history and notes of the Club. A really charming character piece.

misura: This was my gift this year and yes, it's just as cute as the description suggests and, months later, I still adore it. Calam and Katie are snowed in together, which leads to a whole lot of kissing and a whole lot of fun. I can't emphasise enough how cute this is!
Call the Midwife
* A Way in the Wilderness by
toomanysecrets: Fill in fic for how Bernadette became Shelagh, her transition into secular life, and how she kept her faith the whole time. A truly beautiful slice of life fic.
Calvin and Hobbes
* Rules of Parenting by
DianaSolaris: Calvin's mom writes her grandson a letter filled with advice in the hope that he won't make quite as many mistakes as she managed to. This is the best, funny and silly and wonderfully heart tugging.
* The Tale of the Tuna by
PineapplePrincess: Hobbes' POV on Calvin's growing years, as seen via some momentous tuna sandwiches. The cutest!
* A Clean Slate or, Why Cursing in Class is Wrong and I Won’t Do It Again by
LJ_McKay: It's junior high, and everything's supposed to be different - at least that's what Susie thinks. She tries to rebel, but when she's sent to detention a very familiar face is waiting for her. One of the best Susie character studies I've ever seen, which grows her up believably. And Calvin is, of course, still Calvin!
* Making Exceptions by
silveradept: Vignettes of Calvin's life as he grows up, from high school graduation to adulthood and parenthood of his own, with all of the foibles that involves. Beautifully done!
Cinderella (1950)
* Choice by
hydrangea: Ella chooses to leave the Treamaine home instead of serving her stepmother in this alternate universe take on the tale. When she becomes a maid at the palace, things turn out slightly differently. Beautifully recontexualized.
Classical Music RPF
* A Thousand Subtle Shades by
35391291: Liszt and Chopin and their relationship throughout the years. Restrained and beautifully done, and so powerfully written.
Clue (1985)
* Miss Scarlet Rolls the Dice First by
thenewradical: A snappy, lively portrait of Scarlet post-movie as she moves through new adventures.
Colette (2018)
* Stealing a Glittery Rock by
booksareourlove: Missy and Colette, space and the future. A wholly unexpected but completely enthralling space au. WITH MAGIC. Great dialogue is just icing on the cake.
Cool Runnings (1993)
* Something to Care About by
GoggledMonkey: After the Olympics, Yul leaves the island for good and begins traveling around the world, and Junior wonders if it's because of him. This definitely brought a tear to my eye, which is the best compliment I can give it.
The Cutting Edge (1992)
* Toe Pick Tuesdays by
florahart: Doug and Kate have four active, wild kids in the future, but when one of her daughters wants to enter the world of figure skating Kate's not 100 percent sure about it - but Emma is as stubborn as her mom when it comes to getting what she wants. So incredibly cute.
* Stay by
writteninweakness: Directly after the Olympics, Doug and Kate have some stuff to work out and work it out they do. Great banter and some really strong narration.
D.E.B.S
* The Care and Keeping of Normalcy by
RecessiveJean: Lucy and Amy try to maintain a sense of normalcy in their lives after they get married, but normalcy and a work/home life balance in the D.E.B.S world don't often collide. How they strike a proper balance between missions and villainous behavior and a cozy domestic life makes for a delightful story, and this is funny and butt-kickingly action-packed while also being really tender and sweet.
Deadpool (Movieverse)
* If You Want Reese’s Pieces, Prepare For War by
oddegg: Deadpool's in trouble. A perfectly silly and cracky adventure well within the style of the movies.
* MacGuffinson Must Die! by
LithiumDoll: Ellie and Wade talk about their girlfriends! Fourth walls are broken! I become so jealous of how good the character voices I want to pick the author's brain for tips!
* Vanessa and Wade’s Annual Welcome Back to Life Ho-Down, ft. Cable by
Meatball42: Deadpool bends the laws of space and time to get Vanessa back alive. The results are wonderfully funny. A very strong Wade narration (that he doesn't even know he's making!) laces the picture and rounds it out.
Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency (TV 2016)
* Relax by
neveralarch: A twelve-year-old Dirk rides along on a Blackhawk mission, and adventures ensue. Wonderfully written.
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (1990)
* The Most Fun by
Lurea: Hot conpeople sex! Or to put it plainly - postcanon fic in which Freddy, Lawrence and Janet have become partners-with-benefits and sometimes the con goes on even during a threesome. Totally delightful.
Dream Daddy: A Dad Dating Simulator
* It's Like I Never Made a Sound by
atomicpixiedust: Robert goes cryptid hunting in the early days of his friendship with Damien, and when he gets hurt and Damien rides to the rescue he realizes that that friendship might be a bit more. The character work is great, and the emotional intensity is pitch perfect.
* Home for the Holidays by
Lexie: Amanda flies home for the holidays and plans on hanging out with her father, Damien and Lucien. Naturally, plans go sideways from there. Delightful and extremely funny.
Ducktales (TV 2017)
* The Legend of Pete's Pike by
Merlin Missy (mtgat): The family searches for Pete's Pike, a legendary fish that, when caught, will allow the wisher a single wish. Webby knows exactly what she wants to wish for, but when Glomgold shows up to complicate the hunt what'll happen? A really adventuresome fic that feels just like the show!
Emma - Jane Austen
* An Example of Benevolent Selfishness by
Alona: Jane and Emma's relationship shapeshifts, and the author writes such delicate and perfectly Austenian prose that the ride is beyond fascinating.
Ex Machina (2015)
* All Set for Extinction by
Lady_Ganesh: Ava and Kyoko, postcanon. A beautiful and eerie continuation of a beautiful and eerie canon.
The Fantastic Four (All Media Types)
* Night Blooms by
Traincat: Reed's interdimensional exploring results in something new popping up between himself and Doom. Excellent banter illuminates a truly emotional story.
* Put a Spell on You by
Traincat: Doom and Richards have to have ritualistic sex to properly escape from the room in which they've been trapped. Let's just say that things don't go smoothly. Somehow treading the line between affectionate and funny perfectly, this is a total delight.
Father Ted
* altR by
Haywire: Craggy Island gets a cell phone. Exactly one cell phone. Naturally, chaos, ego, greed and hilarity ensue, in the typical Father Ted tradition. A delightfully loony piece of work.
Fawlty Towers
* Fawlty Logic by
foxtwin: How Basil and Sybil ended up choosing the inn life. Some really fun, snappy character work highlight this fun fic.
The Final Girls (2015)
* Stealing Fire by

But his soulmates are willing to roll with it - and maybe, just maybe, they could end up falling in love. Adorable, and a true delight.

yasaman: Eleanor and Tahani end up sharing a tiny motel room, and a tiny bed - which leads to a whole lot more exploration. Funny and hot!

angelheadedhipster: Will invites Chuckie out to visit him in LA. Unexpected emotions descend, and drunken sex occurs. But what of the morning after? Extremely strong character voices, and beautifully frolicsome and hot smut.
The Grand Sophy - Georgette Heyer
* Love's Labor Found Out by
misura: A delightful post-canon story in which Augutus writes a book of poetry about a threesome he's experienced - only to forget to remove his own name from the book. Perfectly in-character and hilarious.
Grease (1978)

cher: Instead of meeting Danny, Sandy meets Rizzo on the beach, and the two of them begin to develop a relationship as the school year goes on. Does a great job capturing Rizzo's character in an IC way while setting a great, era-apropos picture of their world. A total delight.
Groundhog Day - Minchin/Rubin

muffin_song: Rita joins Phil on the time loop, but her own journey is much, much different from his. A marvelous, multi-layered journey.
Hamlet - Shakespeare

renaissance: The points of view of every major character on the king's death, from Claudius to Gertrude to Ophelia to his son, Hamlet. Carefully wrought, beautifully thought-out and written.
Heathers (1988)
* resilience (accepting what you can’t know) by
summerdayghost: JD's father deals with the aftermath of his suicide with almost brutal practicality and some reluctant fondness. Intelligent character work that causes you to relate to a character that was hard to like in canon is always a treat, and this fic does it incredibly well.
Hidden Figures (2016)
* I'll be at the Table When Company Comes by
ChronicBookworm: In which each woman achieves recognition for her deeds, bit by bit and year by year. A beautiful, hopeful slice of future fic.
The Highwayman - The Highwaymen (Song)
* Across the Universe Divide by
MGVR: Four different men separated by space and time are still connected, through the space of time and fate. Beautiful, mystical and incredibly eerie.
Hilda the Plus-Sized Pin-Up - Duane Byers/Fixing a Flat - Norman Rockwell
* Fixing A Flat by
moon_custafer: Hilda stops to help two young ladies whose car has gotten a flat while on the way back from her fishing trip. Utterly adorable, and spirited.
The Holiday (2006)
* The Santa Ana Winds by
lizwontcry: Iris and Miles try to make their long-distance relationship work. Marvelous and incredibly sweet.
* Here's Looking at You by
scioscribe: Iris and Miles write Arthur's biography together. A marvelous story that draws you in with strong character voices.
The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996)
* A Much Better Festival by
stuff_and_nonsense: Another Feast of Fools leads to a much better time for Quasi, and a much more fun for Esmeralda and Phobos as well. Adorable.
Indiana Jones Series
* Father and Son by
Rodo: Henry and Indiana's relationship throughout the years, with all of its bumps and blemishes. Captures their character chemistry perfectly, and manages to be funny and touching at the same time.
* Willie Scott and the Accidental Child Aquisition by
Tenillypo: Willie ends up becoming Short Round's adoptive mother, and together they try to find a way together. This is so good, one of the best Indiana Jones fics I've ever read, and gives depth and bredth to two characters that are often seen by the fandom as shrill and one-note. Marvelous.
IT - Stephen King
* Five Times Richie Tozier Did a Voice, and One Time He Didn't by
moonlight69: After they defeat IT the Loser's Club starts to drift apart -but not for awhile. Poingent, lovely character study that beautifully captures the fragility of childhood friendships.
Jeeves - P. G. Wodehouse
* C'est déjà gémir, Jeeves by
greywash: In which Jeeves and Wooster go to the Loire Valley and chaos, unshockingly, ensues. Hilarious and gloriously Wodehousian.
Jesus Christ Superstar
* Next Year in Jerusul by
Luna: Judas, Jesus, and the 1960s. Fabulous from start to finish.
Killer Queen - Queen (Song)
* The Movies Never Get It Right by
Truth: Amazing worldbuilding gives us a fae criminal underworld and a determined heroine.
Las Vegas “Let’s Get Married” Commercial
* Marry Me by
whitedandelions: "Liz knows as soon as Anne says hi that she’s going to marry her." A beautiful, heartwarming and quite sweet exploration of the romance as it percolates between the two commercial protagonists. Touching.
The Last Unicorn - Peter S. Beagle
* Nettles by
Varanu: Molly and Schmendrick encounter a young maiden running up a country road as they head up for a picnic, but that's just the beginning of this magical original fairytale. Adorable.
A League of Their Own (1992)

Elennare: Nan ministers to various Plumfield schoolmates throughout the years, and this fic is like a tonic in of itself; delightful, sweet and funny.
* Künstlerroman by
blancwene: A lovely magic AU in which Jo has the power to bring scenes to life simply by reading them. As her illusions fall by the wayside, Amy struggles to make paintings take on new life. A fabulous and very creative idea for an AU.
Maiden Lane Series - Elizabeth Hoyt
* Afternoon Delight by
tornadox: Godric finds the karma sutra, and tries a few positions out on Megs. Some excellent PWP and wonderfully IC for them both.
Mama Mia! (Movies)
* There's No Shame in It by
eirenical (chibi1723): Donna, Rosie and Tanya meet for the first time in Oxford and begin putting together Donna and the Dynamos. A really sweet, funny, wll-written character portrait that has a good feeling for the movie's rythms.
Mary Poppins (1964)
* I happen to love you by
anotherthief: Mary and Bert, over the span of roughly twenty years. Beautifully done.

* The Problem of the Cryptic Clue by
tablelamp: George and Kate must untangle a most cryptic mystery. Beautiful and hilarious - the beginning was so in-character I knew I was in for a treat and was not disappointed.
Meet Me in the Woods - Lord Huron (Song)
* The Truth is Stranger by
Cinnamongirl: Urged to stay away from the woods, a young man still journeys on and in them and find someone special. To say too much would wreck the hypnotic rhythm of this story, which is a beautiful slice of mundane horror.
Moby Dick - Herman Melville
* Ishmael in his Coffin by
alestar: Things I never expected to love - Moby Dick PWP. This is beautifully done in every single ways - the prose, the mood, the sense of frantically running between life and death like a mouse trapped in a maze. The story is solidly enthralling.
Moonlight (2016)
* Liv Goes Inside by
Ashling: Kevin, Liv and Chiron after the movie, dealing with life's bumps and moving on. Incredibly elegant and moving.
Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle Series - Betty MacDonald
* The Never-Puts-Down-the-Phone Cure by
scioscribe: Mrs. Piggle Wiggle Enters the modern world, this time providing a cure for children who're constantly on the phone. A lot of fun, with canon-perfect voices.
Much Ado About Nothing - Shakespeare
