I'm pretty sure they just don't want people posting the single rec posts (usually the 'look at the wonderful gift Anon wrote for me'-type of thing) and that general/multi recs posts are still welcome. But I don't actually follow the yuletide comm on LJ anymore (too much wangst *g*) so I might have that wrong.
