Someday My Fic Will Come -- REBOOT
Someday My Fic Will Come is hitting the reset button!
For several years now there has been a prompt collection, "Someday My Fic Will Come," for perennial unfulfilled Yuletide requests. But with the shift away from Livejournal, I'd like to move the collection of prompts over here to Dreamwidth, so we are officially clearing the slate and starting the list anew.
If you are new to this or need a reminder of what SMFWC is about, there are only two requirements for prompts:
1) You have asked for it in Yuletide at least three times, AND
2) It has never been filled.
Doesn't matter whether you asked for it in Yuletide 2017 or not. Doesn't matter if the requests were consecutive or if you took a year off. The only requirements are those above. We only ask that you not list prompts for which you've gotten fills, even if you're always interested in more fic; this is for the people who have never gotten what they're crossing their fingers for.
If you have one or more prompts that fit the bill, post the following in the comments, one comment per fandom:
Your AO3 name:
Fandom:
Character(s): (if applicable)
Link: (optional)
Prompt details:
Try to keep the prompt relatively short; the idea is that people browsing can easily get the gist of what you're hoping for and know whether it's in their ballpark or not. If you want to go into more detail, include general likes/dislikes, etc, then you're welcome to link to a past Dear Yuletide Writer letter or a post written for this purpose, but that's entirely optional.
If you want to fulfill one of the prompts, all you have to do is find something you like in the spreadsheet. Then follow the usual NYR process: write the story, tag the recipient, add it to the collection. (If you want to tag it "Some Day My Fic Will Come," you're welcome to.) It's that simple!
If you get lucky with your prompt -- if someone finally brings you the fic of your dreams -- let us know! We'll take it off the spreadsheet and keep the metaphorical house tidy.

Fandom: The Chronicles of Chrestomanci
Character(s): Christopher Chant, Cat Chant, Gabriel de Witt
Link: https://swan-tower.dreamwidth.org/821647.html
Prompt details: For a little while there, Twelve-A had no less than three nine-lived enchanters at once. I'd love to see them team up to deal with something.

Fandom: To Kiss the Granite Choir – Michael Anthony Ashley
Character(s): Eroico of the Baremescre, Cantiléna of the Baremescre, Imre Usaym Balgas
Link: Online Short Story, My 2017 Letter
Prompt: I kind of adore all the hidden cultural connotations, the brotherly/friendly relationship between Imre and Eroico, but especially the huge cultural misunderstandings and obvious growing relationship with Cantiléna. I would love Cantiléna’s point of view, more Eroico being adorable, or (I would love you FOREVER) fix-it where Imre doesn’t completely transform and lose so much in the process. Goodness, I’d take worldbuilding meta for this story, I love it so much.

Fandom: Oscar Wilde Murder Mysteries
Character(s): Oscar Wilde, Robert Sherard
Link: https://veleda-k.dreamwidth.org/477332.html (Last year's letter)
Prompt details: Oscar being his fabulous self, with Robert along for the ride. Mystery solving very welcome. Bosie can come along if you'd like, though I'd prefer he not be at the center of the story.

Fandom: 1-800-Missing (TV)
Character(s): Any (of Jess Mastriani, Brooke Haslett, and Sunny Estrada)
Link: https://doranwen.dreamwidth.org/242598.html
Prompt details: Any combo of the characters with regards to their relationships with each other would intrigue me.
Jess: Introspective look at her new job, at her friendships, etc.? Or maybe take a look at some of the loose ends the show left with regards to her dad?
Brooke: What if we got to see what happened between her and Coyle? Or what was it like for her growing up? Anywhere from childhood to getting into Quantico…
Sunny: How did she get to Quantico? I mean, what was the path of her life to that point? What's the backstory behind Sunny calling herself "the Einstein of Indianapolis" but in the next moment saying she "was beginning to wonder" about having a career at all?
Jess & Sunny: How did Jess get close enough to Sunny to be there for her after the bomb in White Whale? Or write a continuation of that ep?

Fandom: Women's Murder Club (TV)
Character(s): Lindsay Boxer, Cindy Thomas
Link: https://doranwen.dreamwidth.org/242598.html
Prompt details: I'd love to see Lindsay and Cindy in missing scenes, alternate endings, or extensions to episodes, such as ep 12 or 13, or more of their friendship from the beginning. You can keep it canonical or AU things (I love canon divergent AUs). I'm also good with a fic focusing on just one or the other.

Character(s): (if applicable) Dudley Washburn, Charlene Fecteau O'Brian Washburn, Henrietta "Snowy" Snow Sutherland
Link: (optional)
Prompt details: I'd love to hear more details about how Dudley proposed to Char, and why he then got drunk and phoned Snowy. I know they were happy together - was he carrying a torch for Snowy all the time?

Fandom: The Nonesuch - Georgette Heyer
Character(s): Tiffany Wield, Patience Chartley, Mrs. Underhill, Lady Lindeth
Link: http://desertvixen.dreamwidth.org/751731.html
Prompt details:Give me a Heyer-esque romp, possibly concerning Patience and Julian’s wedding (don’t let her ruin it, but comeuppance is always fun to watch) in the vicinity of Staples. Basically, I want Patience to have a victory over Tiffany.

Fandom: The Scoop - London Detection Club
Character(s): Geraldine Tracey, Beryl Blackwood, Mr. Hemingway
Link: http://desertvixen.dreamwidth.org/751731.html
Prompt details:I really just want some fic about this, with a focus on Geraldine Tracey. Turn the Lonely Bungalow case on its head, or give me a big showy trial (with requisite headlines).

Fandom: The Shadow of the Tower (BBC 1972)
Character(s): Henry VII
Link: https://lost-spook.dreamwidth.org/754746.html
Prompt: I've asked for this at least 4 times now. Characters might have varied slightly, though, but basically despite this being not only cardboard 70s BBC TV but cardboard experimentally theatrical 70s TV and a completely unreasonable thing to ask for, I love it and James Maxwell's fascinating portrayal of the central character, and I will take anything involving him.
My request for this year was: Missing scenes - or missing episodes! - in the historical gaps, or vignettes with Henry interacting with any other character in the series (Margaret Beaufort, Elizabeth of York & Lincoln are particularly interesting, but honestly, anyone). Pre-canon would also be great. I love the series and the complicated portrayal of the lead character and I just want more.
(I did once get a very cracky Madness crossover ficlet, which was very nice... but not a fill.)
I put info about the serial on the pimping post, but since I keep just saying it's probably rubbish but I love it, I should say that, to modern eyes, that may be true, but actually some of the episodes are completely amazing and even when they're not, it has no sense of self-preservation whatsoever, which at least keeps things interesting. (Plus, the DVD's out, and all 13 eps are up on YouTube.) (AO3 shows 36 works in the fandom, but this is not true - the general Wars of the Roses fandom seems prone to tagging everything with everything - The White Queen, The White Princess, The Winter King, The Shadow of the Tower etc. To the best of my knowledge only 1 of those looks as if it might actually be for SotT (aside from my own efforts).) I am hoping that some other Yuletide history buffs might share in my love of old BBC betrayal, beheadings and the awfulness of absolute monarchs generally.

Fandom: Bedazzled (1967)
Character(s): George Spiggott, Stanley Moon
Link: https://afterism.dreamwidth.org/3931.html
Prompt details: I love their unique friendship, and I want more of it. Gen or George/Stanley, post-canon or canon divergent AU - I would be delighted with anything.

Fandom: The Squire’s Tales - Gerald Morris
Character(s): (if applicable) Gaheris, Lynet, Terence, Eileen, Gawain
Prompt details: I love these books, especially the constant snark and dorky references to obscure Arthurian mythology, as well as the genuine goodness of the characters! That being said (...spoilers for a book series released years ago follow?) my favorite period of time is immediately post The Squire, His Knight, and His Lady/The Savage Damsel and the Dwarf. Gary/Lynet is my OTP for these books, so anything post-canon would be seriously adorable, or maybe working them into another Arthurian tale--I admit, I would LOVE to see what Lynet would make of Geraint and Enid (or Gary, for that matter.) Or maybe tell me about an adventure Terence and Gawain had around that time period then and since Terence/Eileen is a pretty excellent ship even though, more about how Terence and Eileen going on adventures, or about their secret marriage/relationship? I also adore Gawain, Morgan, and Arthur (and am easily amused by Luneta, Lyonesse, and Gareth, so appearances for any or all of those would be great. I'm a quick reader, and I like long plotty fic a lot, but let's be honest, mostly I just want to visit with the characters and canon just one more time and I'll pretty much be thrilled with whatever you want to write!

(Anonymous) 2019-11-02 11:49 am (UTC)(link)Fandom: Questionable Content (webcomic)
Characters: Yelling Bird, Shame Orb
Link: https://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~republic/yuletide2019.html
Prompt details: Yelling Bird and the Shame Orb clearly have history (see QC 1567). I would be bowled over by some cracky slash between them. Maybe even what happened on June 14th 1987!
[is it worth promoting this post on the YT comm again?]
